The original overnights also included HD viewers. The X Factor always adds a fair bit on timeshift. It went from 8.7m to 9.7m including +1. That seems a low timeshift for the programme.
Of course my maths ability is extremly limited heh.

2.2m consolidated for Person of Interest seems quite good, adding +700k on timeshift. But the decline in the overnights for week 2 was a bit concerning.

I have a feeling this one is going to be a slow burner and may take time to resonate with viewers. But I'm sure C5 will stick with it. I don't remember NCIS being immediately hugely popular either when they first started showing it.

Does the final rating still look disappointing to some of you? It's basically just added 1m to it's overnights.

Another import Channel 5 have that I love is Once Upon A Time. Pleased to see it's doing well and especially when it's had some tough Sundays.

Don't forget to add ITV1 HD.

ITV1 8,082,000
ITV1 HD 1,020,000
ITV1+1 679,000

9,102,000 or 9,781,000 including +1

Thoughts?
Overnights
2011 - 10.80m/11.30m
2012 - 8.09m/8.71m

Officials
2011 - 12.182m/12.709m
2012 - 9.102m/9.781m

In the overnights, it was 2.7 million down year-on-year, but in the officials the gap extends to 3 million down year-on-year.

It really should have timeshifted more, a 1 million timeshift for The X Factor is actually poor. Not good stuff there.

TXF ending up top of the pile in consolidated figures, as expected, but just 240,000 ahead of Corrie (exc + 1).

7.8m for New Tricks.
Seems good. Bit down on last year's premiere but yesterday was a bank holiday so things were bound to be a bit off.

New Tricks beat Eastenders and the 1st episode of Corrie (exc +1), so good in that regard too.

Yes, they must be proud of how Once Upon a Time has rated across the run considering the calibre of the competition it has found itself competing with over the course of the past 22 weeks.

It's a charming little show which I have a real soft spot for and I'm delighted they will be showing Season 2.

The percentage declines before and after timeshift are the same so I guess it timeshifted proportionally. It should have added more though (I was expecting above 10m with +1), especially looking at some of BGT's huge timeshifts earlier in the year. A 1.1m timeshift for TXF in itself is OK, but based on the low overnight it should have done more.

Still, as Fincham said it is a marathon not a sprint and it has a long run ahead of it yet, so let's wait and see where it is a month or two down the line.

TXF being down 3.08m year on year for episode 1 is a MASSIVE slump which no amount of aggregation or meteorological spin can overcome.

MASSIVE news!

Not disappointing for me, if it was any good more people would watch it wouldn't they, unfortunately the standard of the contestants get worse every year, Saturdays show only had 2 people who could just about sing and at least one of those will be axed at boot camp just for effect.

Decent enough. Better than MBB's debut of course.

Also better than most of ITV's prime time offerings for the past 3 months too....

long term fan since series 1 truly havent watched a second (not even a sneek peek)

Mr Barlow trying to act like Simon Cowell was enough last year the same old contrived sob stories.Tulisa talking like shes some major star.

Its not Cheryl they needed, it was Dannii to give some honest feedback and reality check. The live shows will be just more of the same

TXF has lost the mass appeal it had - there is no hook at the moment, they have sob stories and people who can't hold a tune. It is still popular due to the reputation it has. All very well seeing the BARB officials going up, but that strips out the ad breaks - which are considerable. Naturally it will get a boost for the live shows - but by its own standard the first two overnights have been poor.

Decent for NT last night, slightly down on 2011 - but expecting it to nudge 9.0m in the officials.

Agree.

There is no excitement around the judging panel this year and the ratings are reflecting this. What were they thinking giving dull Nicole Sherzinger the job? Gary Barlow has zero charisma. Louis is spouting the same old lines year after year. The only decent one is Tulisa.

Be Interesting to see how ITV1 did I don't watch Soaps so there has not been one thing on ITV1 for me for ages other than the news.
I have been watching channels 4 and Five the most I find lately.
I can take or leave X Factor.

If any channel had a hit like Countryfile, itd be shown all year round. Especially on Itv1 who flog things to death, theyd probably show it twice a week 52 weeks a year.
The BBC isn't a commercial organisation though and therefore shouldn't be in a position where they're running shows and formats into the ground in the name of ratings. They have the freedom to be able to add more depth and variety to their scheduling without having to worry about how they'll sell the changes to advertisers. The commercial channels don't. And frankly I think BBC1 has been much worse than ITV1 as of late when it comes to overexposing shows. With the exception of at least one too many episodes a week for Coronation Street and Emmerdale ITV have actually been surprisingly restrained in recent times. Not so the BBC who have too many episodes of The One Show (including spin-offs and clip shows), Casualty, Holby City, Waterloo Road, Countryfile, Antiques Roadshow and God knows what else. And just how many repeats of Miranda have there been on prime time BBC1? It may not have actually been a lot but its starting to feel like it.

TXF went up a decent bit but I actually expected it to timeshift more. Doesn't bode that well for it.

The overnight for episode 2 was interesting though - mainly because the peak was so much higher than the average. The average wasn't great but the peak was mildly encouraging and suggested that the earlier start affected the average. Next week it's at 8:10pm and back to 60 mins so it should be above 9m (with +1).
Unless of course the high peak represents viewers turning on not liking what they see and then switching back off again. And certainly the recurring theme of X Factor viewers this year seems to be that they aren't enjoying the audition shows.

2.2m consolidated for Person of Interest seems quite good, adding +700k on timeshift. But the decline in the overnights for week 2 was a bit concerning.
But easily explained by how terrible the show is. Even those who are fans of the series admit that at least the first half of the season isn't great although they stick to the story that the back 9 is an improvement. I think the problem C5 may have here is that unlike CBS I'm not sure they can give the opening half of the season the support it needs to keep viewers with it until it gets better and winning audiences back after they've switched off can be tricky.

TXF has lost the mass appeal it had...
No it hasn't. Don't be ridiculous.

TXF has lost a certain percentage of the audience it had....like I said it has a reputation for stellar ratings...still popular but not mass appeal...

Poor for Prince Harry last night, Citizen Khan doing better, Only Connect not quite hitting the 1m.

2nd CS beating EE...even with BBC3 added....shocking

That is an awesome Only Connect - its fan base is quite incredible.

New Tricks wasn't as high as I thought it would be but still a good rating for the show.

On those BARB figures, that X Factor rating is a worry when its also backed by similarly low overnights for episode 2. It really needs a boost with Who over the next 5 weeks.
