Even with the Paralympics, to record a series low is not a good sign for The X Factor. Not good at all.

Look at the state XF is in at the moment! Three weeks in and it hasn't immensely improved as expected from those ratings in the first week.

I think it's to early to write off X Factor, although i know some of you here are ready and waiting with shovels to bury it.

I don't watch Dr Who, but given all the hype it has had over the past two months i thought it would be a little higher, but i hear it time shifts really well so we shall see.

C4 Paralympics seems to be holding a steady average through the evenings. It was never going to set fire to the ratings, but it is doing well for an event which has never received so much live coverage.

Edit:
18 …. 1.7 (10.6%) …. Channel 4 News 18:30 Channel 4

That is a great number for C4News

What I'm finding strange is that there seems to be more buzz and talkability around Big Brother on C5 than XFactor

Next week is its make or break moment, its got 20mins of doctor who on saturday and the paralympic closing with coldplay on sunday which could easily pull 8million ish- If it holds up, i think they'll be ok for the rest of the series, if it decreases dramtically they're in big trouble because the following week you'll have not as much x factor buzz as the strictly.reveal is coming.

Aside from that, i'm disappointed with doctor who, considering the amount of promotion and the freindlier time slot its going the wrong way, i know it timeshifts well but the beeb will be slightly disappointed with that i think

Bemusing how some of the X Factor fans are clinging onto any excuse to explain the ratings drop for the show. Eventually, the excuses will run out and they'll have to admit their beloved show just ain't as loved as it used to be.

Was hoping Doctor Who would get a slightly higher rating, but 6.4m is still respectable. Red or Black is surely dead and buried now? Nobody liked it in the first series, so bringing it back for a second was baffling. Just goes to show that even Ant & Dec can't polish a turd.

Don't forget the overnights include same day timeshifting, so a lot of people may have been watching 'event' programming like the Paralympics or Andy Murray at the US Open, and catching up later.

Look at that compared to this year! And XF's a lot better last year aswell.

Why do you think ROB isn't doing well this year?

Hassaan13, you're asking the same things time and time again! Red or Black isn't doing well because it is crap, plain and simple. The X Factor isn't doing well because it is getting stale, it doesn't need a detective to work things off.

Some of your posts are getting tiring/annoying as they are 99.999% of the time either X Factor, CBBC, BGT or R&B. It's getting tiring.

That's true actually. For a series that has been on for years and years, 27 series and 5 series in the last 2 years it is still getting 2.0m-2.2m overnights for Channel 5. So I can see why. For the first time since 2006, I reckon the final next week could actually beat the launch rating maybe.

The X factor is on for a series low and according to some people it is dead and buried. Doctor Who is on for a series low opener despite all the things it had in it's favour and yet that is respectable? Sorry but that just bemuses me slightly.

To ne they are just two shows that have been going for a lot of years and without anything big happening to create a buzz probably have a core audience of about 8 million. Nothing to get overexcited about.

Are you blind? The programme is mind numbingly boring, and after last years debacle, no-one cares about it.

And as D.M.N said, your posts are becoming increasingly tedious with you requesting or saying the same things over and over again.

Re the X Factor ratings, it's just laughable. I know the live shows haven't started so once they start then we can compare ratings, etc... But it is a clear sign that the public's interest with reality shows are waning.
