Now I will admit I am no 1D fan, but I am not surprised he quit, and not because of "haters" but because of his fans.
I follow @Hate1DwithMe and yes, it has hate in the name but it isn’t a HATE account like you would expect. What makes this account amazing is the reaction from Directioners! They are INSANE....daily death threats and threats of violence.
The rumour is that he quit because his "fans" were sending him hate about having a girlfriend and introduction her to his family.....cater to 12 year olds then expect 12 year olds reactions.
How long until he comes back?

Good for him. Don't blame him and I hope he's under no obligation to return. If people abuse something or someone, and it makes them leave, then it's those haters own fault if they spoil it for themselves.

Also they uploaded a video of him apparently trying to 'hook up' with a fan and spread this video around twitter and tumblr. Not nice. I think that was the main reason he deleted tbh.

I bet you he'll be back before his 30 days are up. Other celebs have done this mainly for publicity. I believe there is a new 1D single due next month so him coming back will lead nicely into the release.

I agree , it seems syco have a formula now, and promotion relies heavily on the social networks, especially twitter.

The Little Mix girls are following the same pattern, although they seem to manage it without all the insane dribbling abuse from the fans , perhaps their fans a little younger, or perhaps its because they are girls themselves so the attachment is different.

Zayn seems to get the most abuse from the fans, strangely.

He's been called homophobic as well as a cheater on Twitter plus there was alot of controversy a few months ago because apparently he doesn't take his religion seriously enough. Oh and he got alot of flack for getting a tattoo and got called an alcoholic because there were pictures of him looking rough in a taxi one day. I wouldn't be suprised if he quits the band first.

There was a story about six months ago that Simon Cowell personally paid each of them a million pound bonus to keep them happy while they're waiting for the big money to come in.
