I'm interested in seeing how much people feel is reasonable to spend per month on a phone, so how much is your monthly bill? At the minute mine is £15 but thinking of increasing this to £26 and seems quite a steep step for me

I'm on pay as you go with T-Mobile and top up £15 a month that gives me unlimited free texts, 500mb mobile internet and £15 credit.

Im on £26 per month O2 On & On (Sim only):

Unlimited any time any network Calls
Unlimited Texts
1Gb Data

Its good value but it depends on how much you use your phone and what its for. You may not need all that. Look at your present usage.

He's said before that it's some sort of retention deal that, due to a change in policy on keeping customers, they'll probably never offer to anyone ever again.

It was a retention deal. I have quite a few contracts with Three (for family) and so i asked them to do a good deal for me. I was already paying £23pm on this line. They offered a good one with a handset (S2 i think?) for £25pm but i just kept telling them i was going to leave. They called me back and i told them i'd just want a sim only now, tried to sell it to me at £25pm (standard price). I told them they'd offered the S2 at the same price. The guy went on hold, came back and then gave me the £12.50 deal.

With the price increase it is now £12.78. HOWEVER! ever since three introduced their new plans/made a profit/price increase, Their retention team has been terrible. They just offer standard price to everyone and loyalty doesn't mean a thing. They are still cheap and it's excellent service from them, but i don't think i'll be upgrading with them on this tariff.

Personal phone = £10 - 250 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited data with giffgaff. I rarely reach the minutes because I have a business phone for Mon to Fri day time use, but it's been a good and reliable service so far.

£20.50 for 100 mins, unlimited texts, 500Mb data with tethering and Sky Sports mobile TV - expensive tariff for what I get, but it did include the mobile I wanted free which if I'd bought sim free I'd have needed this tariff to be £5.50 to equal the same cost over 2 years.
