I'm thinking of buying this phone outright at the end of the year I have the iPhone 4 white that I currently use and my contract ends in December I'm looking to use sim only I can currently get £252 for my phone from cex if I sell it now but it means I have to use a non 3G blackberry handset and pay £10.21 for a new big sim card. If I wait until my contract end date notice period (Nov) will I lose hundreds of pounds on the sale of my iPhone 4 I know I won't get as much but surely the drop will be less than me buying a temp smart phone to use for 3 months?

If that's true, that'll be decent timing for me. My current contract is up in mid October and I'm planning to swap to SIM only and buy a phone outright. That will mean all the main devices for this year are in the market and I can make an informed decision.

If there isn't anything that appeals in the new iPhone (e.g. NFC, 4G compatibility) then I'll stick with what I have and save my cash.

You can buy a Micro Sim to standard Mini Sim adapter for £1.49 allowing you to easily swap between phones.

It is rumoured the New iPhone™ will use a much smaller Nano Sim.

It's not an issue for me. I have 2 phones and one has a regular sim and one has a micro sim. If I'm swapping contracts, I'll just get whatever the new phone requires.

After 3 years with iphones, I've switched to Android and realised how much better it is - this event will completely pass me by!

After 3 years with Blackberrys I'll be switching to iPhone 5!

Not sure what your post adds to this thread apart from showing you're now an Android fanboy

No such thing - there are Apple fanboys and normal people.

But that makes you an ifan as well. How can you say your going to change to it when you might not even like it?

Just go and play with a 4S as the 5 will look absolutely no different. The outer case will, but in regards to the OS look, it will be identical.

I am really hoping this is not a complete dud I think at the moment a strongish iphone is needed at least until someone like W8 phones take off if they do.

Apple are clearly quite happy with user interface. It wont stop it selling millions. They will only change it if they feel they are losing sales.

What a crazy business model.

A technology company should be proactive, not reactive.

Evidently they are only good at being reactive by suing companies, that's all they care about.

They want to destroy the competition by litigation. The hope is it will increase the competitions costs through legal action. Hopefully get some revenue from judgements or get their products banned from sale and eventually they will go bust or give up. Apple have plenty of money to do this. It was Steve Jobs dying wish to destroy Android.

They do add features to IOS. Even if the User Interface hasn't change much since they developed it. Its all part of the brand and the brand recognition.

The add features only to the latest hardware. That is not strictly extending iOS.

Rarely new features.

Siri has been the biggest and it was also the biggest pile of crap!

iOS is boring to use and boring to look at.

I'm planning on buying 2 iPhone5's outright the day of the event. Selling them on eBay and using the profit to get myself a free one. Every year there's ppl paying so much more than they need to
