Does anyone find the Dan / Ian / Dr Will strategy incredibly boring?
Basically boils down to
a) Throw every competition so everyone thinks you are weak and you never have to make any decisions. b) Follows on from (a), get other people to do all your dirty-work and keep your hands clean at all times. c) Remain charming, friends with everyone and be a 'nice guy' (okay, slightly less so in Will's case). d) Hope you slip through the cracks and everyone else has bigger fish to fry. Honestly, I get how this is the smarter strategy for playing the game, but my God this style of play is so boring. You could say that Adam (BB13) used this strategy too last year and it very nearly won him the prize so it's kind of unfair he gets such a bad wrap. Give me Janelle / Rachel competition whores any time. Far more entertaining.

I'm not sure. I don't find any strategy boring, just a lack of strategy. Jenn clearly has a strategy this season but is discredited by some because she isn't at the forefront. As long as I can understand their reasoning behind it, then I'm all for strategy in any form. The 'best players of all-time' lists are swamped with strategists for good reason though, my personal favourite is the floater strategy, as long as you get your end game right and strike when necessary (like for example, Jun) then its a solid game for Big Brother.
I love to watch Janelle and Rachel at work though, putting everything they have into a competition, I agree that nothing comes close to that sort of excitement. |

I kinda do, which is why I didn't like Dan much his season but the rest of the drama in the house made up for it I guess

Me. A thousand times me.
One issue, though. Will Kirby had charisma. It made things less dull than our Dan and Ian-infested present cases. |

You cannot lump Dr Will in with chumps like Dan and Ian.
a) Dr Will did throw every competition, but it was a completely original idea in Season 2. Dan and Ian just copied Dr Will's genius. b) Dr Will did not fly under the radar in either Season 2 or All Stars. He created obvious alliances and was nearly voted out early in both seasons. c) Dr Will became public enemy number one in Season 2 and would have followed Mike Boogie out of the door if not for his great strategising i.e. 'everybody hates me, why not take me to the final two? I'll just be happy to take that runner-up spot'. d) Not true. Dr Will, as mentioned above, was a huge target in both seasons. He almost made the nomination chair his home in Season 2 and was on the block several times in All Stars. Dan and Ian are Dr Will wannabes, but that doesn't mean you can take away from his achievements. The only thing they have in common is that Dr Will threw competitions, which was his original idea to begin with. If Dr Will was in that house he would have run rings around Dan and seen through Ian's façade in about 5 seconds. |

I'm not sure Ian has thrown many competitions. He seems to have tried to win most of them.

Dan a chump? Seriously? That's one of the most ill informed comments I have ever seen.
I don't know if "keeping your hands clean" is necessarily a boring strategy but "sticking with one alliance no matter what but not really fighting hardcore against the other side" is. And neither Dan or Ian are interesting/funny enough to deserve the amount of screentime they get. Especially Ian, as he's turning more and more into BB13 Adam every day

I don't see it. When I think of Dan I think of BB10 and his game in that is more similar to Will's than Ian's imo.

Ian is just playing the best possible game he can play, using a combination of strategies, IMO. I don't see him as a wannabe anyone.

Dr Will was the most entertaining guy this show has ever had on. He was funny and witty with his manipulations. He didn't exactly sit back and let everyone else do everything.
Dan is pretty boring this season, but he wasn't in BB10. He was such a brilliant reader of the house dynamics and his position within them, he knew when to lay low (after the Brian eviction) and when to make a move (Replacement Nominee Roulette). He threw competitions when he didn't need to win them, but when he played to win he often won them. |
