Buying the HTC Desire C - made great Sense
Since my disastrous flirtation with a Nokia 800 - took it back to Three twice for repair in the end they gave me a brand new one which by then I had lost all confidence and sold it on ebay for £200. Since then ive been using a borrowed BB 9300 thats been driving me Nuts. So yesterday I decided to treat myself to a brand new phone and bought the HTC Desire C its small but as I always keep my phone in my shirt pocket its just right, not only that for a Budget Android phone it does come with Icecream sandwich. I love this phone already and good old Android has come on a long way since I had Android 2.1!

I'd be interested to hear your full opinion on it. Obviously, it's a budget model so it's not going to be as good as the One X, but just how speedy is it? It's only running a 630MHz processor and I'd heard that it was quite laggy?

So what? If it suits the O.P's requirements and budget, then it's fine. In any case, it'll be an improvement on the BB screen!
Glad you are happy with your choice Op - that's all that matters |

Not everyone needs to drive a Rolls Royce, and not everyone needs a One X. The Sense GUI from HTC is wonderful and makes all their phones really user friendly. I'm sure the Desire C is perfect for a lot of users.

In a nutshell I sold the Nokia for £200 on ebay which I was supposed to put towards another phone but somehow it got spent (you know the story lol) So have been looking for an unlocked Budget phone for a while and the HTC Desire is perfect it cost me £124.99 and its unlocked. So I slipped my contract sim into the the phone and away I go. At the moment its very quick, I dont know how it is if running a few tasks at once etc and compared to the 9300 the screen is a dream. And yes it really does run Android ICS and if you follow the link below there is a complete spec for the HTC Desire C. Its not perfect but you cant buy a Fiat Punto and expect it to motor like a Ferrari but For the money I paid its spot on and is a pleasure to use!

Bought a desire c cheaply but completely bemused on how to get pictures off it using Windows XP. Wondered if anyone had managed it. Works okay with Vista.

Solution to the XP issue was to install the freeware My Phone Explorer on the PC.

Am i the only person going to reference the pun in the title?
Anyway, from what i've seen of the Desire C it's a good phone for basic phone use. Sure the phone has some limitations in terms of hardware but the software ran ok when i was using it. Quite surprised as Sense is usally known to be laggy. (Do bear in mind this was a brand new Desire C literally out of the box. So no apps or anything installed) |

I've had an HTC Desire C since July. It was my first HTC phone and quite probably my last. It's all very well saying it can do this, that or the other, all i want to know is 'does it do what i want it to do?' and the answer is no.
I'll be trying to type a message for example and its trying to do something else in the background, so ends up writing gibberish. Trying to then go back and edit, results in many presses of the screen trying to get to just the right place. It can't even do the basics such as calling and texting without lagging. I found as well it would always cut me off every couple of minutes while web browsing and stay cut off until it reset itself a couple of minutes later. The icing on the cake was that their own software wouldn't install properly onto Windows 7! The final straw for me, was when i was trying to call a phone and it just would not do it, as it was too busy doing something in the background. Maybe i just had a duff phone and corrupt download...
