I thought they did a pretty good job overall, not too much cheese, but I thought there were some omissions. Obviously you could mention countless Beatles and Stones songs but they went with She Loves You and Satisfaction (I'd have preferred Jumpin' Jack Flash.

My omissions:
Children of the revolution - T-Rex
Sugar Baby Love - The Rubettes
Love Will Tear Us Apart - Joy Division
Loaded - Primal Scream
Wuthering Heights - Kate Bush
Common People - Pulp

Anything by Depeche Mode... one of the pioneers of British music who along with The Cure, The Clash and Iron Maiden started whole genres of music... sadly forgotten

Hometown Glory - Adele

Perfect fit. No-one will convince me she wasn't asked to appear but I guess the pregnancy scuppered any plans.

I'd have liked to see Rhydian do 'I Vow To Thee My Country/The World In Union' (the one he did on X Factor)

The problem is that I can't hear that song without thinking of this. Starts around 40 seconds in.

Agreed. Just Can't Get Enough isn't my favourite song by them but it is pretty well known I'd have thought. And Enjoy the Silence has had more covers than I've had years on earth.

They where crap too. They're a majorly over-rated act, i will never buy their record i dont care how massive they are. Some of the music is quite catchy. I weep for the unsung heroes of pop music.

Isn't that song about London? In that case it would have been ideal.

Enjoy The Silence is a good song. I've been checking out Depeche Mode's music lately because I love a duo called Future Perfect and Depeche Mode are one of their influences.
