Can I politely request that a subforum is made for US Soaps, as the amount of fans is increasing and it helps to keep the boards organised.

British Soaps
US Soaps

Makes sense, means that those who wish to discuss US soaps and only US soaps (and there are some), can do so without British posters talking about British soaps, and those who wish to discuss British soaps and only British soaps can do so without US posters talking about US soaps.
Those who like both, can use both forums. Anyone think this a good idea?

I agree, isn't there already a US TV section of DS Forums?

We have every right to post here, as has just been said, a soap is a soap. Sometimes i like to talk about or contrast UK and US soaps in one thread, why should i be deprived of that.

Well at the end of the day this is a British forum though, sorry but you have a lot of fans with you who like US soaps, I just think a subforum would be better for you.

no, at the end of the day, as has already been said, this is a general SOAP forum, that means we can talk about ANY soap. Back off.

'The UK loves its soaps. Discuss them here.'

Generally, the UK does not love US soaps.

What I find extremely irritating is your urge to go onto Corrie/EE threads and say something like 'Karen and Tracy's cat fight is nothing compared to Jenny and Kate's on General Hospital! Because omg, you should all have seen it in the UK!!!'

And anyway, its only right that as more US fans come into the picture, a forum is made accordingly.

well if that is the case jay maybe you should take your own advice then because you always go into the EE threads and say it is nothing compared to Corrie.

No I don't, I may criticise EE but I very rarely compare it to the "opposition" and anyway I'm allowed my opinion, so why should saying I dislike a storyline be illegal?

Even if I do compare them, I'm entitled to if I back up my opinions with points. How can we disagree with LoveUSsoaps if we haven't seen the clip in question?

i posted the Sheila/Lauren catfight clip from B&B, and i do provide clips if people ask for them. I always have done. This is all about what you want, the rest of us aren't up for being dictated by your wants.

lol, who are Jenny and Kate, they aren't GH characters.

i see no rules that this is a British soap forum, don't people like to talk about NEIGHBOURS and H&A too? Stop attacking us US soaps fans, its not fair, it really annoys me.

Look love, this is supposed to be a forum for British Soap discussion. You have every right to discuss US Soaps, but invading UK threads and posting comparisons to soaps many haven't heard of let alone seen, is unacceptable.

There are people like you who love the US soaps, and so why not have freedom to discuss them in your own forum. What's so wrong with that idea?

I really can't see any problem with US soaps being discussed here. I don't have any interest in US soaps, so don't bother with these threads, it's quite easy to do and there really isn't a need for a subforum. Plenty of posters on here who watch the US soaps also watch various UK ones and comment on them.

That's fine, but LoveUS comes into British threads and puts down the UK soaps saying the US have done it bigger and better etc.

If LoveUSsoaps would stick to their US threads it would be fine.

WE ARE NOT INVADING.
This REALLY annoys me. We are adding to the forum, we are all talking about the same artform, the soap opera genre, this is not a forum for exclusive British soaps.

People talk about the Aussie ones, i dont see you gunning
for them.

You are making a ridiculous generalisation about me. I have views, I'm allowed to contrast if i may. I don't put everything down and besides, i can if i want. Freedom of speech and its all soap talk.

Which LoveUS is completely entitled to do. I really can't see what the problem is. This poster is completely entitled to state his/her opinion in whatever thread they wish. You might not agree with it, but if it annoys you that much put them on ignore.

The Aussie ones are aired here though, much more well known than the ones you go on about!

Your US threads are fine but when you come into British threads and make ridiculous comparisons or put down the UK storylines in favour of US ones, its silly because as I said, MOST OF US HAVE NOT SEEN THE US SOAPS.

I disagree. This is a soap board. Plenty of people from different countries use these boards and as someone said above, no matter where they come from, they are all soaps and so we have every right to post in here. I love UK soaps, US soaps and Australian soaps and there is no way i would want fans of US soaps (myself included) pushed out of here onto another board!

Exactly. For those that don't like the American soaps, you don't have to read the threads about them!

They can create a US soap forum, but I wont be using it.

Here's a tip Jay-H:

Read the title of the thread before clicking on it.

Jay stop trying to create rules, it's very tedious! If you have a suggestion contact forum support, however I disagree with a US soap forum. US Soap fans have every right to post here, and they are available in the UK.

Did I miss the part where Jay H purchased Digital Spy because I can't for the life of me remember it happening?

O and by the way It's Jay - There are members who have been on these forums far longer than you and me - so as Phat just said could you please stop dictating the (no your) rules to everyone, other wise I will also report you.

This isn't South Africa; it's a bloody soap forum – there is NO need for secularisation!
