She is great but I'm concerned about there being too many stars that are bigger than the show

With the contracts Louise Berridge gave out, I think you'll find they are.

I would disagree, over the past few years the likes of Alfie & Kat especially have been allowed to baloon into these
"stars" that could simply take-over EastEnders.

I often wonder how much of Alfie Moon's success is due to the fact that he's Shane Richie.

I think that filling the show with big names may seem like a good idea to some but the BBC should give other actors and actresses a break.

I am a massive fan of Denise and have been since she did the Big Breakfast, however I don't think that EastEnders is necessarily the way forward for her, and I don't think that she is the way forward for EastEnders.

I agree, I don't think personally she will do much for EastEnders.

i think eastenders need to get back on track with normal actors, not hiring celebs coz it looks desperate

I sort of agree with this. They really need to sort the writing and storylining out before signing big names. DVO may be fab when/if she joins, but it shouldn't distract from them sorting the basics out.

Yeah I said the same thing, other actors and actresses should be given a chance.

I think you'll find plenty of people, including myself, complain long and hard about Keith Duffy in Corrie . It's not the principal of DVO going into EE that anyone's complaining about, it just seems to some of us that maybe they should have other priorities at the moment, sorting out the writing and storylining, rather then signing star names. I'm sure DVO could be a big asset to EE, I'd just rather see the nuts and bolts of the show sorted out first.

Dont forget Ms Kensit in Emmerdale, I think Denise will be ok in Eastenders as long as she does not go too over the top with her acting.

Yeah exactly. But she will be no good to the show if the writing and other factorsbehind the scenes are not sorted out.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Not Denise Van Outen, please let it be a rumour.

She's a Meja Ho, she'll drag EE down while she uses it to boost her own ego.

I'm begging EE producers dont do it????

I think there's too much of this 'gimmicky' casting in the soaps, e.g. Keith Duffy and Bradley Walsh in Corrie, Shane Richie in Eastenders and Patsy Kensit in Emmerdale.

And not all of them are fantastic actors, it has to be said. Eastenders are just getting desperate now and think that by bringing in already famous but average actors it's going to help.
They've turned Alfie Moon into a miserable old git as it is.

Isn't DVO the Kiss of Death though? Practically every show she's ever been in has been axed (she's a bit like Ulrika in that respect )

LOL! Let's hope its not the same for EastEnders, TV wouldn't be the same. I mean I'm not its biggest fan but I do like EastEnders, I just wish it would return from this dip.
