Haha, so basically my Vita (that has been out since February) and my PS3 (that has been out since 2007) Can do more than nintendo's next generation console

Being a core gamer myself who buys new games all the time so i'd easily be able to save money for a WiiU, i'm the target audience nintendo are going for and i already own a better product than they are selling LMAO

Nothing because it's not out right now but as time goes by it will have Nintendo games which you won't be able to play on PS3 and with horsepower your Vita can only dream of. Aside from that it also has the ability to stream games to the controller screen with pretty much zero latency, something the Vita won't be able to do.

Multi-touch is also not such a big deal, it's not really practical or even needed when it comes to gaming as the DS and 3DS has already proven and a resistive touch screen is well suited for stylus use.

Yes, as long as it isn't priced ridiculously.

I like the idea behind the Wii U, I even like at least 6 of the games shown. All I need to know is which games will be at launch....

But i'm not a fan of nintendo's first party games, so basically in my eyes since its announcement it has been two things

1, the bottom half on the DS, with the top half being your TV

2, a PS Vita with better graphics, but you can't leave the house with it

There is not a thing unique about the WiiU, otherwise you would of stated more than exlcusive games and its has more horse power than the Vita

Don't get me wrong i'm not actively wanting the WiiU and Nintendo to fail, I'm actually a huge fan of the 3DS and will be getting an XL when the new Professor Layton comes out but everything the WiiU offers i have, Mario and Zelda can not sell me a console

And why do you think it can't?

The Wii U Game Pad will receive its video via wifi, the Vita receives its video via wifi.

Nintendo hasn't invented a new low-latency wireless technology.

They've said it has no visible latency, but what does that mean exactly? No latency from console to Game Pad, or no latency from input to console or no latency from input on Game Pad to display on your TV?

I'm guessing they actually mean no latency when comparing your TV with the Game Pad. They won't have given it a super amazing screen with low latency, it is too expensive to do so, especially when they've gone with single touch to save money and its resistive rather capacitive, again likely due to cost, so I suspect there is little or no processing done on the Game Pad display.

In fact it is impossible for it to have near zero latency as LCD screens have around 10ms response time. The Vita has an OLED display which has a sub 1ms response time.

We'll see how many PS3 games you'll be playing on your Vita, lag and video compression free.

The quality of Wii games was barely better than PS2. Therefore I conclude that the Wii U will get totally blown to pieces as soon as the next XBox and PS are released.

Therefore - waste of money for me.

Nintendo have been going downhill in terms of games for a long time now. They are still innovators, which is nice, but the quality of games is most important to me, as a gamer funnily enough!

Sounds like the quality of graphics are what's most important to you, not quality of games.

Oh my god this tired old arguement let me try and explain

A good game with good graphics is better than a good game with bad graphics

The quality of graphics help with believing the game world is real. (right now let me stop you your already preparing a graphics don't matter here's a list of nintendo games why but...) can you explain why my sister is always asking me to play games like the one with drake his adventures are amazing (uncharted) or alan wake because i want to see the next episode, even going so far as to by the dlc for me so she can see what happens, heavy rain is another example with her so into the game she forced to stop playing or make a new save because she didn't want to miss a moment

She would never of been interested if these games have bad graphics because she wouldn't of been able to connect with the characters so the fact is for one person at least, graphics do make a better game and i'm sure there are other people out there like her

All are lag free.

And as for compression, yeah there is some compression, but it is a smaller resolution screen and size.

You don't need TV graphics on a smaller screen.

And might I also add that the Wii U will almost certainly do the same in terms of compression, I mean the Game Pad is only 480p for a start, and would drain most people's wifi if you started transmitting uncompressed 1080p stuff around.

You make so many invalid/irrelevant point's I'm not even going to bother. I have no problem if Nintendo games (be that Mario or Zelda) don't appeal to you, why would I? Same goes for your sister. I was asked for 10 great Wii games and I listed them.

I think Uncharted is one of the most overrated game series of this generation, we all have different tastes it's as simple as that.

What are all lag free? You mean you can play all your PS3 games via your Vita remote play?

I'm not talking about re-scaling to a different resolution, I am referring to compression artifacts. Using dedicated hardware the Wii U scales the image to the native resolution of the GamePad screen before it sends so it doesn't look a mess, in fact those that have played on the device have noted just how sharp the graphics look on the Gamepad.

Yes all Remote Play games play lag free.

And yes, I know you're not on about just resolution.

Now please accept that the PS3 + Vita is capable of doing what the WiiU and Game Pad does.

You could say the WiiU has better methods of doing it, but at the end of the day they both can perform the same function, lag-free. Which was the original point that was disclaimed.

Zombi-U alone looks a good enough reason to buy the game at launch. And i hate zombie movies / games.

Nintendo made a bet that the market wasnt ready for HD consoles and that bet won big time!!

if u can name a generation where the most powerful piece of hardware won go ahead. The most graphical beast has never been what has determined who sells the most consoles.

This generation won by Wii
Previous generation PS2 (Gamecube was more powerful)
Previous generation PS1 (N64 more powerful)
Handhelds dominated by Gameboy when the Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket, Lynx etc were more powerful
DS beat the PSP. 3DS owning the Vita.

Graphics maybe important but Nintendo do not need to get into some graphics race to be successful. They do not have various revenue streams like Sony and Microsoft and they would be crazy to risk going all out and then if it was a success they would be in trouble.

Biggest nonsense I've ever seen.

Nintendo didn't make a 'bet' that no one wants HD consoles.

Do you think that families out there went, 'hmm Nintendo Wii or Microsoft Xbox 360... you know what, I don't want HD right now, thank you very much - I'll get the Wii'.

They bought the Wii because of its casual game catalog and novel controller.

Also, selling the most doesn't mean you're the best.

I had no idea that the Ford Fiesta is better than any Ferrari out there!

I know a tonne of people that own the Wii. None of them play it any more. It might come out at Christmas if it is lucky.

I'm sure there's plenty of people that continue to love their Wii, but all the people I know that own them own them as a family console that sits in the living room for anyone to use.

So to them, it really seems like it was just a novelty.

It also has shoddy software sales. Well. Compare it to the 3DS and you'd say it has amazing software sales

But the Wii has the worst sales of software per console, of this generation.
