As CBS Drama is available on Freesat and Freesat from Sky it seems a bit of a cheeky to put it only in the XL pack.
Haven't CBS Reality and Horror (which is also from CelloZone) always been in XL as well?

It does seem a bit cheeky but I suspect it's the broadcaster trying to recoup some of the allegedly very high cable carriage costs. it's not as simple as renting some satellite bandwidth and a Sky/Freesat EPG slot.

Yes, but gives them a marketing opportunity when quoting the extra channels available in the XL package. If they can't get the more popular (expensive) channels, they may as well just add extra channels available FTA on satellite.

I think so but CBS Action has been in M+ since it launched this time last year

Seriously!?

That's really bad of VM. If it's free on Freesat it should be on M+ to offer a similar selection...

Aye but remember several of the UKTV Freeview channels are Pay channels on Sky.

I guess it's down to the broadcaster to decide how can they make the numbers work on each particular platform. I guess UKTV use the fees to recoup some of the encryption and general platform costs that Sky charge.

I'm guessing CelloZone/CBS are doing the same on VM. I suppose it could be VM being greedy but I doubt we'll ever know!

The channel is likely to be recieving a subscription fee from VM, which is why it's in a pay TV pacakge. It's the same reason Film4HD is only available on M+ and above.

Sky doesn't offer the channel to it's customers. ChelloZone have bought a EPG slot and satellite bandwidth to offer this channel on the Sky EPG/satellite.

The EPG now lists programmes for all 4 channels replacing the "channel coming soon" message.

I can watch it on L.

Yes, they may be adding channels, but the channels added cannot justify the extra cost, apart from CBS the others are niche channels and will not cost a lot.

Considering the channel is also on Freesat I'm surprised it is not included in the M+ package.

It's not even on the L Package.
Yet CBS Action is.
Strange but true.

I'm pretty happy that VM are at least making an effort to get a few new channels. The big one that most of us still want is still Sky Atlantic though.

It would be nice if VM could add some more foreign language channels that aren't Asian or Middle Eastern.

TV5Monde is the only non-asian/middle eastern channel so far.

It would be impossible to gather the data, but I would like to know how many "most" are .... I personally could not give a stuff ! - and I suspect I am not alone in saying that.

It would be nice if an African package was available. Many people I know with sky have these including a subscription to Nollywood movies if they wish.

Surely the majority of VM customers want one of the best channels available?

Sky ripped off VM by buying a bunch of channels and VM got access to the channels that were dropped previously as part of that deal but Sky Atlantic was launched shortly after and Sky wanted an exorbitant fee for cable rights.

I certainly don't disagree with you, but my question is who gives it the title of one of the best channels available ??

I'm sure that if we had it, I would at least watch some part of it, but for me, looking at the schedules, there is nothing that grabs my attention.

Suspect we will have it sooner or later though.
