Media Boy is today reporting that some of the potential October channels may be from Sky. He reports talks on these as "ongoing". http://mediaboyblog.blogspot.co.uk/

Sky Atlantic HD is proud to announce that Lena Dunham's sensational new comedy GIRLS will premiere exclusively to Sky customers on the channel and on the move via Sky Go this October
http://skyatlantic.sky.com/girls/gir...c-in-september No surprise to me.That leaves only 2 possible Sky channels which have already been mentioned in this thread . |

New Channels
Why is Pick TV + not coming to Virgin, this is also a Sky channel, even though it is not branded as Sky?

I was expecting way more than ITV 2 3 and 4 in HD. But that aside it's still 3 new HD channels. |

If Media Boy is correct that leaves me a little underwhelmed unless the Sky talks prove fruitful,
but I wont be holding my breath for that. I suppose more channels even if they are ones I will hardly if at all watch are better than none. |

Media Boy is probably the only reliable source we have for such things so am more than happy if he wants to rack up the tension a bit and go in for some teasing..... the HD ITV channels will be very welcome and anything else a bonus.

Add me to the underwhelmed camp. Then again getting more channels is a bonus. I'd be more interested in the Sony and CBS ones rather than the ITV's.

Get yourself a Freesat HD box
Personally, I find Virgin more expensive than Sky My Mother has Virgin but her bill is too large so she says she is going to go with Sky instead to cut costs |

Have you taken into account the fact that you do not pay for servicing or repairs with Virgin, unlike Sky when you are asked to pay £8 a month insurance for the Sky + Box?

Good News about ITV HD channels , i still think SKY News HD and Sky Sports News HD are coming seeing as Sky recently agreed a deal for the 2 channels with UPC Ireland. I have my doubts about Sky Atlantic.
Possibly Eurosport 2 HD coming later this year , If they agree a new deal with TBS Europe for TCM HD very soon surely it will include Cartoon Network HD aswell ? , I still would like Universal HD. |

Is BT Sports Channel going to be coming next season?
And will ESPN, if it continues be a stand alone, XL freebie or become part of L or M+ (like Eurosport). |

And are you comparing Sky ADSL at say 10Mb with VM at 30Mb? That being said, switching providers every few years can give you the best deal as well as having the wiring in place to make future changes more painless.
Re the new channels, I'm happy to see the HD ITV channels, but I prefer to watch their content than American dramas etc that are likely to fill other channels that had been rumoured. For those of us without a Movies package, it's also likely to mean a significant increase in half-decent HD movie content. It's down to personal preference though! |

You virgin media subscribers are still getting a bum deal when it comes to HD channels. No wonder a lot of their subscribers are switching to SKY+HD. Just a far better package

![]() BTW - what will Sky do if OTT TV takes off and film houses do direct deals with companies who have their own infrastructure to deliver content via the net. eg HBO TV as a channel delivered by the internet, lets think who could deliver that, VM springs to mind. 2015 ain't a long way off and if BT continue to nick sports away from them, not sure what Sky would have left. All this stuff is available on the net if you take a look at what investment houses are saying, but some people choose ignorance and spout the garbage in the original post! |

![]() The fact that I have to put up with 1960s Batman in crappy old SD eats me up inside. And Johnny Test not in HD...surely that's against the Geneva Convention? |

Oh yeah, terrible, how I moan and wail that I can't watch TOWIE or Peter Andre in HD.

I used to be a VM customer (years ago but it doesn't seem to have changed much) so I know how crap it is, imo of course. Yeah SKY may be more expensive in the long run but the choice in channels far outweighs the cost. Yeah we pay for having HD channels but £120/£10pm for 60+ channels seems a good deal to me. You have the floor
![]() I wanted more HD channels for my £ so I switched to Sky. I don't see the point in spending a fortune on a HDTV and not using it to it's potential and I wasn't getting that with VM, although I admit I don't know how many HD channels VM have now. |
