Just had a look at two test boxes at national faults centre Wythenshawe

992 showing sky news sports hd epg says (vip3d)
993 test bars saying sky Osterley epg says (sky eire)
995 showing bt sports 2 epg says bt interactive
996 blank screen epg says upc setanta
997 showing Disney hd epg says disupc

Also retentions have been told not to give anymore discounts on sky sports anymore.

update on spotify it will only be given free on vip
What a random bunch of channels, Sky Sports News HD and Sky Ireland? BT Sport Interactive, Setanta and Disney HD? None of these would come under the same carriage deal (except maybe SSNewsHD and SkyIre)

Retentions will be told that because there's no reason to now BT has arrived.

All that stuff except SSN and Disney reads like background nonsense rather than channels testing.

Even Disney reads as nonsense, they all have the letters UPC in them and Disney HD is available on UPC Ireland

Wouldn't this mean a new carriage agreement with CBS Chellozone meaning Reality TV arriving possibly?

There is nothing meaningful being tested according to my DVB-C TV. A fox channel and OD slates.

Remember you heard that BT was testing here first, not in that tiresome Meeja Boy thread in the "other forum".

I doubt it , Reality TV is a placeholder channel.

Reality TV is just a simulcast of CBS Reality during the day with "Psychic Today" between 9pm and midnight.

Chellozone is actually owned by Liberty Global, so arranging carriage for the +1 channels shouldn't be too difficult.

Are there any plans for QVC Beauty, QVC Style, and QVC Extra to launch on Virgin? I am asking for my mother who enjoys QVC.

Highly doubtful unless QVC fancy shelling out for bandwidth.

Any plans for Nat Geo Wild HD to launch on channel 229 ? , that channel is run by Fox international channels which looks they renewed their carriage agreement with and is on UPC ireland.

I got VM small booklet through the post a couple of weeks and the page about On Demand showed a picture of Dead or Alive on Nat Geo Wild , the last time i got this small booklet through it showed a picture of Royal Pains on Universal channel which was added to On Demand a few weeks later along with other catch up content.

I wouldn't like to guess what channel numbers Universal HD , E! HD , BBC Three and BBC Four HD will go on. The entertainment section of the EPG is a complete mess.

Universal confirmed that the HD channels Universal HD and E! HD wont be arriving anytime soon.

BBC Three/Four HD will probably shaft another channel up the EPG, or involve a reshuffle, baring in mind it is very likely you will have to watch CBBC HD/Cbeebies HD on these EPG numbers also

There is nothing in this press release about sharing EPG numbers.

An email was sent to a CableForum user (not MediaBoy) stating that Virgin and Universal have no plans to launch Universal HD and E! HD, if users wanted these channels they should pressure Virgin Media to get them.

The way that's written, it's as if Virgin don't want them! And it's confirmation they are not coming!

There is nothing in this press release about sharing EPG numbers.

No it doesn't state in the press release but it has been mentioned before on here that this is likely to happen (hence my use of the word 'likely')

So a default response not confirmation at all.

It was not a default response. A default response would just say "We have no plans to launch these at the moment".

The response he got stated that Virgin did not want these channels and that the best way of getting them would be to put pressure onto Virgin Media to add them to their line up.

It was confirmation. If they were going to turn up, they would be here by now. A new deal was done earlier in the year which included On Demand and an EPG move. They would be here by now.

.
I was the one who posted the email and when I spoke to someone at the CEOs office at vm she also stated there was no plans for the foreseeable future

The EPG is starting to get a little crowded in the 1xx channel numbers range I think they will have to start shifting quite a few channels soon.
