just dont get the need for news in hd.... they all increasingly use internet phones to the live reporters and they look awful on sd!
Everything will be HD at some point, people who watch HD get used to it and hate the sight of SD broadcasts. We accept it on archive material but live broadcasts shouldn't need to be crippled in such a way. |

So when do we reckon Fox and CNN USA are coming in? Could be good especially with the Congress and Senate votes coming up.

I don't really want any more sports channels. I'd prefer to have channels such as CNN USA or Fox news. I am probably in the minority I admit.

Fox news is entertaining. It's like Sky news on steroids, see what the republicans really want.

I know you have just copied and pasted it from another forum, so this isn't aimed at you personally, but there's no chance of Virgin launching the 25 of those in the near future. |

And here's why Virgin get a bad reputation. The same garbage repeated over and over that forum readers take it as fact.
I know you have just copied and pasted it from another forum, so this isn't aimed at you personally, but there's no chance of Virgin launching the 25 of those in the near future. Other channels are launching throughout Autumn. I don't think we'll see all of them on the list before the end of this year but i think most of them will launch. |

What makes you so sure of that? Look how many launches VM have done already this year. FOX+ will be coming somepoint this month apparantly along with DisneyHD and DisneyxdHD.
Other channels are launching throughout Autumn. I don't think we'll see all of them on the list before the end of this year but i think most of them will launch. Sky similarly may have been willing to strike a deal if BT didn't do a deal for Virgin XL and that would have been some loose change to work with however that doesn't apply now. Indeed they are paying out more to BT than they did on ESPN. The channels quoted as testing aren't testing on the wider network only FOX+ is. I'm the first to stick up for Virgin wherever possible however this ludicrous thread on CF is giving Virgin a bad name by giving readers unrealistic expectations for the near future. Then we get people moaning about how Virgin are rubbish for not providing a service they never claimed they would offer. You could make anything up, post it here, someone posts it to CF and it ends up in that thread despite being absolutely baseless. |

I think some will be surprised when they see what has been agreed in the Sky deal when it is announced. This on its own will add some popular channels to our screens.
5 Later, More 4 HD, Disney HD and Fox + will also arrive soon. MGM is not on tvmad's list but I think this may also arrive before much longer. Not sure about the rest of that list though - I don't know where the evidence to support this comes from. |

Where's the evidence of a Sky deal?
Relationships with Sky have improved of late, and the recent multi million pound fibre deal is likely to feature in getting an agreement on this annoying little problem that continues to bug Virgin Media viewers. |

Cost for one. Even if they offer all of them a tiny amount - say 3p per subscriber per channel per month they would have to raise their prices around £1 a month to cover it. And let's be honest some of those channels will command values much higher than that.

Many par parred about BT Sport , look what happened infact i know a deal is very close to being struck between Sky and Virgin part of the agreement is Sky using part of VMs network. I can't say anything more than that for obvious reasons but a lot of people are in for a surprise. |

If you look back I was actually optimistic about some kind of BT deal, and was the first to confirm 4 (albeit nameless because they were broadcasting under "Test") channels testing on the network. |

The deal is not done yet as far as I know but talks on this began a few months ago (see the broadcastnow site). Sources have explained that a deal is now close, and that we are likely to get rather more than just Sky Atlantic/HD.
Relationships with Sky have improved of late, and the recent multi million pound fibre deal is likely to feature in getting an agreement on this annoying little problem that continues to bug Virgin Media viewers. It's my belief the BT deal reduces Sky's interest in bringing Atlantic and all the listed HD channels to Virgin. |
