The ONLY channels testing on Virgin Media network at the moment are

Fox+
More4 HD.
First i've heard of more4HD testing as they still have their exclusive deal with Sky.
FOX+
DisneyHD
SkynewsHD
SkysportsnewsHD

are only channels i'm aware of at the moment that's testing.

I don't have a DVB-C set but over on Cable Forum it had been confirmed by Virgin Media, this is because all UPC channels that are broadcast over here will be on VM by 2014.
Over on speculation forum? How about we leave them to guessing and I will inform this forum what is actually happening.

No actually, Cable Forum, you've probably never heard of it.

And oh ok you and your mass knowledge and insider information, against a lot of people with lots of insider information. I know which one I'll choose.

More4 HD should be added to channel 141 soon, making it the 52nd HD channel on VM.

There was no exclusivity given to Sky. More4 HD existed as a channel way before Sky added it to their lineup and Sky had no involvement in its setup. The reason it's only being added to VM now is because the last carriage agreement with Channel 4 ended recently and the renewed one includes More4 HD. VM normally don't add channels mid-term through a carriage agreement with a broadcaster.

No in my area it isn't. If you could take a photograph of DVB-C hardware corroborating that it is testing I'm sure the forum would appreciate it.
I've got a DVB-C compatible TV, so if someone could tell me how to scan for the test channels, I'll scan and put up photos as well, just to clear everything up.

No need to, they (Disney HD, SkySportNewsHD & Sky News HD) definitely aren't in testing. IIRC it was Asian Channel who told us here they were. Apparently by a friend who has access to a test box in one of VM's call centres?
This speculation became fact from the other forum which we're now lead to believe was the original source of this wrong information from an 'insider'.

I have heard of it, as stated it's full of speculation. If you search their forum there's little other than guesswork. Indeed, the day before BT Sport launched the much lauded "meeja boy" stated he had no information yet I had informed this forum that there are four tests labelled A, B, C and D indicating something in the offing.

I never stated "insider" knowledge simply that many of us have the technology to identify what is testing yet do not use it.

If Virgin intend to launch the channels on UPC by 2014 they would have no need to "test" at this stage. They could start and close the Olympic streams with virtually no notice.

The Wikipedia effect. Where speculation is quoted as fact by a"reputable" outlet then sourced again from there.

Ironically ocav has quoted me as a source for More4 HD launching. While it is true, it is proof almost anyone can get any old tosh onto Cable Forum and its "Coming Soon" thread.

Do people think Media Boy actually has any "insiders"? Or does he just regurgitate information from Technix, and take some (usually inaccurate) guesses.

The stuff he posted about the channels from UPC Ireland launching on Virgin Media looks like cobblers. So either his "insiders" are making stuff up, or they do not exist.

Someone forget to tell vm and universal hd then vm told me in July they had no plans and didn't class it as a priority channel and universal hd confirmed it wasn't coming to vm and in regards the UPC channels I was told during a conversation with someone at the ceo's office in July they plan on moving the UPC channels that vm are missing over
I also inquired with channel 4 regarding more4hd couple of months ago and they stated in returned email they currently had channel exclustivety with another provider at the minute but we hopefully we see at a later stage

The reason it's only being added to VM now is because the last carriage agreement with Channel 4 ended recently and the renewed one includes More4 HD. VM normally don't add channels mid-term through a carriage agreement with a broadcaster.
I thought they renewed their carriage agreement with Channel 4 in January this year ? that's when More4 + 1 was added and Film4 + 1 moved to the M+ pack , C4 and More4 were added to Virgin TV Anywhere in April , I suppose it depends what your definition of recently is.

And why would that concern you? You have sky hd so what's coming soon to vm is irrelevant to you and there forums

More 4 HD appearing lower down the EPG than More4 and 4HD and 4+1. Yep can see that happening.

Sky had 6 months exclusivity. This was confirmed by Channel 4. The exclusivity deal expired the same day as the VM Film4 HD exclusivity deal. Again confirmed by channel 4.

Dont see the irony, and actually I quoted what you said, and said "Information from DS Forums". As far as I can see, you saying on here that More 4 HD is testing, therefore that is some information, dont know how credible you are.

On the point of Media Boy (yes lets be mature and use actual usernames) saying that he had no information the day before BT Sport launched, that would be correct, he had no information. You had information, which he made available quoting you directly with a link to your post. He didnt have any information so what did you expect? Him to make stuff up and cause more rumours.

That's the only thing I've got wrong recently. I usually only post stuff I know that definitely is due to happen, not a hunch that I have.

BTW it's where not were and there's no need for a space before the question marks.

That's the channel number it's been assigned now. It may change when it becomes available to subscribers. VM seem to be shifting HD channels further down the EPG which would suggest they could soon be employing a HD channel swap like on Sky.

Sky had 6 months exclusivity. This was confirmed by Channel 4. The exclusivity deal expired the same day as the VM Film4 HD exclusivity deal. Again confirmed by channel 4.
Sorry what's been confirmed by C4? VM's Film4 HD exclusivity ended the day it became available on Sky, which is a no brainer. That also marked the end of the previous carriage agreement VM and C4 had which gave us that exclusivity of Film4 HD for a little over 3 years. As I mentioned before More 4 HD had been broadcasting way before Sky added it. Since 2011 in fact: http://www.channel4.com/media/docume...veryFormat.pdf
All Sky did was make the channel available on there platform too like VM are going to do. If there was any exclusivity it was More 4 who had it through live streaming of the HD channel on their website.

Not really. I'm sure if you look back through my posts you'll find plenty of grammatical mistakes. It's the easy to avoid mistakes which sets my OCD off.
