I'm paraphrasing. Only FOX+ is testing, although they are peddling rumours on the "other forum" of two channels tomorrow and the Sky Atlantic/HD channels not on Virgin rumours are being peddled once again.
Exciting news.

Can you stop calling him Meeja Boy, thought this forum was a little more grown up.

You didn't quite get the rumours in though Sirius.

The rumours currently stand at:

Fox+ and one other channel to launch tonight
Talks with Sky continue of SSN HD, SS HD, Sky1+1 and Sky Atlantic
BBC HD Channels expected to launch on December 10th
Asian News channel to launch by the end of the month.

Now let's stop being pathetic.

I thought my post summed this one up quite well.

I do admit though the constant unfounded and baseless speculation can be difficult to follow.

To be fair, the rumours are all pathetic. Anyone could collate all the forum talk into a big post and pretend they're in the know.

Someone also needs to tell Media Boy not to use the word 'an' so much. "An new channel will launch"

The whole CF thread does bear striking similarities to a cult at times.

The cult of false starts? In fairness any thread of this sort is 90% speculation and rumour. If a person knows a channel is about to launch and keeps repeating that it will arrive every Tuesday and Thursday until it actually launches, chances are they will get recognition for the time they accurately predict the launch and the few dozen false starts are forgotten.

Unfortunately this also gives fake sources an opportunity to give fake leads and deliberately mislead everyone. It's always an interesting read, just don't expect every prediction to come true.

Meeja Boy has seen unspecified rumours of possible unspecified channel launches but cannot post for unspecified reasons.

I was going to say you can't make it up, but it appears you can.

Wonderful, now if the pointless and childish MFIBTYF game could end, perhaps everyone could get back on topic. The topic being "new channels", in case anyone had forgotten...

Rumours from the internet are that virgin is to get all the BBC new HD at the start of December ...

This would be nice just before Xmas, BUT I feel that the BBC would not put up new channels on cable before DTT has got the new muxes up and ready also I would say that Freesat would also get the Rumours of a EPG change as it's part owned by them with ITV.
As the Freesat EPG would need a change to put the HD channels in order.

Even with EPG spare slots are there on Virgin to put BBC HD channels together....
161 BBC One HD ( Moved )
162 BBC Two HD ( Moved )
163 BBC Three HD ( New )
164 BBC Four HD ( New )

108 can be held for new BBC One +1 ?
187 can given back or held for BBC ALBA +1 if comes?

That's such a poor attempt at comedy I actually pity you.

Whoever asked above how I know it's all made up is that so many channels have been quoted as testing that simply aren't. That's a fact easily verifiable by anyone with a DVB-C compatible TV.

One of the New muxes ( Mux E ) will ready next month from what i have read.

Also Ofcom have said
Additional High Definition (HD) television services are expected to launch on Freeview before the end of 2013.
http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/2013/0...d-freeview-hd/

BBC Three HD / CBBC HD will existing capacity on Freeview currently being used for BBC RB HD , i suspect BBC RB HD will close shortly after the 23rd of November.

Changes have already been made to the BBC B multiplex on Freeview, probably in preparation for adding BBC Three / CBBC when the RB HD service is removed. The BBC is platform neutral and the new Freeview HD multiplexes will be added progressively on a site by site basis. It's unlikely that the BBC would want to wait for the Freeview roll-out to be completed before adding the services to other platforms. They will be licence fee funded, so should be available on all platforms.

187 can given back or held for BBC ALBA +1 if comes?
Hardly anyone watches the non-timeshift version, so that would be pointless.

Do you know that for a fact or just speculating?

From some report into the funding of minority language broadcast services. It was some time ago but I doubt that the viewing figures have increased exponentially since then..

True, although at least on here that post fell into oblivion as opposed to being repeated over and over as if to be fact.

I see CF seem to specialise in both sulking as well as speculation. Can't decide if their collective upset is more entertaining than the notion being put forward that their speculative thread is holding up channel launches. Of course, all these big companies worth tens of billions of pounds combined are holding up mutually beneficial deals because of that thread.

As Virgin have demonstrated they can launch channels without those users on that thread having any idea was imminent as was the case with BT Sport. Although on this forum it was verified four test channels (not labelled) were in place.

For anyone still uncertain only Fox+ is testing on the network.

Edit: - Seeing as I am a bit bored, can ocav back up his claim that users of this forum are threatening members of another?

Can you start a different thread for user fights and conflicts, please? This thread is about New Channels coming, or not coming to VM.

I am not in an argument or conflict with anyone on this, or any other, forum. As you can see 90% of my post you quoted related to the speculation of what channels may launch and if not the reasons that apply.

As you hit submit you will notice it asks you to ensure your post is constructive and adds to the discussion. Ironically it is your post, and not mine, that appears to have missed that request.

It wasn't a claim, read the forum and you'll realise this was confirmed by people who read the threats now grow up and be mature, both forums have members that prefer one or the other, some people just read too much into it and assume over there that some rumour is fact.

The CF thread is for all rumour and speculation, not to confirm anything, it's to discuss. Info on Sky Atlantic has come from somewhere (oh yeah a Broadcast Now article) and AsianChannel coincidentally on here.

Where as over here, where quite a lot of the rumours originate, we find those insulting people over on other websites and those of the other websites receiving threatening messages from apparent members of this website.

So let's end this. CAN A MOD PLEASE CLOSE THIS THREAD AND WE CAN START A NEW ONE IF NEEDED. SEEMS WE CANT HAVE GOOD THINGS WITHOUT BITCHING EVERYWHERE.

I don't see why users of another forum feel the need to come over and demand we close our thread. It's not like DS users go over there and demand the Meeja Boy thread be closed.

This forum is just as entitled to discuss Virgin Media, and where users cross post inaccurate information then criticism is inevitable.
