Same here lol Monday there are 6 recordings that are on at the same time, luckily TiVo re-arranges the recordings a bit so for example instead of recording The Walking Dead at 9pm it'll record the episode at 12am instead.
Yes, but although the TIVO is good at finding alternative showings, it does not come up with a dialogue box telling you where it has found it. So you then have the palava of searching for the recording that it has made to ensure that it has actually happened!

Of course, a quick look at "upcoming recordings" or the SL will show you what you need to know.

Quick look? You're having a laugh mate maybe my Tivo is faulty or something but it takes ages for it to load up my planned recordings or series links. Everything else is pretty smooth though lol. Just my luck lol.

Not really new channels but I've been told Sky Sports 3, 4 and F1 in HD maybe arriving soon on VM. As always wait for an official press release for confirmation.

Good news although no doubt they'll all remain as part of the 'HD sub' for the Sky channels.

Ne'er mind, its still great if they do get added to VM.

VM's contract for the sky sports channels is up this summer so it would be the perfect time to get them into a new contract

It was renewed last year before the BT Deal.

I believe Sky Basics is ready for renewal this year though.

No it should be renewed in 2017, not this year: http://phx.corporate-ir.net/External...xUeXBlPTM=&t=1

Page 45 mentions carriage agreements of "3 and 7 years", but doesnt state which one runs out when. But this is made clear earlier on page 27 where it mentions the premium carriage runs out on June 30th 2013. So an educated guess would make that as June 30th 2017 for the basics.

Basics and Premiums are separate. Premiums were renewed last year (June 30th) so that will last till 2017 at the earliest.

There is no date for the Basics renewal.

Yes I know they're separate, read my post again. That document I've linked to is from 2011 for their business year 2010 and the 7 years applies to the Basics as can be surmised from the document and what was reported in the media in 2010. The renewed Premium carriage length is not known publicly so you can't know when it ends. All we have is the CEO mentioning last year that they had the Premiums for another year.

EDIT: Having a read of the latest annual report it is stated in there that the Premium carriage agreement expires on 31st March 2014. So it was a less than 1 year carriage agreement since July 2013 and I don't know how you've come up with it lasting until 2017. The carriage has obviously been extended now with continued presence of the Premiums on the platform (and ties in with what I was told about 3, 4 and F1 HD possibly arriving soon).

I got it lasting till 2017 based on you saying above that deals last 3 or 7 years.

That is short, unless they signed the deal earlier in the year with the pressure of BT Sports then just announced it later.

So for the moment we have no confirmed time as to when the Sky Basics are up for renewal?

Interesting research, thanks for investigating and sharing with the forum.

2017. You would probably have to read the annual reports in question to find the month.

Except what I quoted was "3 and 7 years", not or. This should tell you it stands for two seperate things.

Yes it is short but I would think VM forced opened the carriage negotiation for the Sky Premiums sooner so it wouldn't clash with their negotiation for BT Sports. They did a similar, but opposite, thing when launching as VM.

I'm pretty sure it's still 2017 for the Basics, unless you have anything that says otherwise.

Someone on Cable Forum posted a date for the 6th May, but that post was quickly removed. Another is saying that we could see Sky1+1, Pick +1, Sky Sports News HD and Sky News HD which "Might" launch at the same time before June.

LibertyGlobal is due to release its results today and has a conference call tomorrow so we may read or hear more soon. However, the current news seems to be more about new bundles than new content.

Yeah they seem to re-packaging their bundles from what i've seen the new bundles are cheaper than exsisting ones.

I think all Sky channels (except for the obvious movies/sports lol) are moving to M+, i've seen rumours that Nat geowild, History, CI will be moving into tvL as XL is going to be VMs version of Skys HD pack but with BT Sport included.

But will we get all the other HD channels that are on Sky, but not on Virgin?

Depends on what contracts are already in place and when the deals with Sky expire.
I think we'll certainly see most of the HD channels arrive.
