What the hell is MB? I thought that was a board game manufacturer. Can we use idiot proof language please?

I don't know for sure it but MB might stand for MediaBoy who is quite well known within cable discussion forums - especially for being reliable as to new channel agreements and subsequent launch dates. Just a guess though - I may have seriously embarrassed myself there lol!!! |

Its been well discussed that he's only ever got something right when somebody else more reputable has announced it and he's regurgitated it on his blog.
The majority of his 'insiders' are the same people who post in his threads on CF, or people winding him up. Still, if it keeps the pensioners happy let them play... |

IMO
theres a guy on here called Technix I think? he's been spot on, and doesn't say its definitely, but usually says like, possible channel wotsit may be arriving. possible and maybe are not definite. successfully got it right over TCM 2 / HD, and the CBS channels. As well as premier sport. |

The difference between Technix and MediaBoy is that Technix does actually seem to have some insider knowledge. He is usually the source of information and normally only posts when he's certain something is going to happen. In fact, he knew well in advance that the SSHD channels were being sorted... Not just a guess like on MediaBoy's thread. ACTUAL information.
Anyone could take it upon themselves to be the oracle of cable tv. Just pretend you have insiders, and run a blog basically copying stuff that's already in circulation or make stuff up. Also... If he's going to continue the facade. Can someone PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, tell him that you don't have to use 'an' for everything. It looks bloody stupid. That alone means I can't take anything he says seriously because I spend the small amount of time I do reading his posts just making fun of it! |

To be honest the TV section of CF just seems to be a clique of pensioners and the unemployed trying to find something to do all day, instead of anything of actual value. Thats fine if you are into it but I'd rather listen to people who actually have a clue on DS for hints on actual service changes.
Its all a bit sad really. |

I also suspect Media Boy is unemployed, possibly a pensioner (but probably not due to being a Boy), or possibly disabled (there is absolutely nothing wrong with being disabled - and I passionately support rights of disabled people). He is careful in what he posts - all he has posted is that he lives in Scotland, has access to Virgin, Sky and Freeview boxes, does not drink alcohol, and stays up very late - every day! How does he afford both Virgin and Sky subs? Maybe benefits alone, or maybe lives with parents. He is quite motivated, and has kept this up for several years.
Just leave him alone he isn't harming anyone. |

Maybe instead of assuming people are unemployed, on benefits, or are pensioners (or even disabled) how about just being nice to people? You don't have to visit CableForum nor did you have to comment on this thread slating people you don't know. |

I enjoy reading Media Boy's blog, find it quite interesting (despite the poor grammar), and think he makes the channel speculation on Virgin Media thing more interesting. I am a Media Boy supporter, I was just speculating on who he actually is.

It's certainly interesting. Entertaining, even. I especially enjoy the vivid speculation like http://mediaboyblog.blogspot.co.uk/2...edia.html#more
Yeah, I love stuff like that. Absolute classic. You have to take it all with a pinch of salt and a bit of a giggle. But, it is actually all fantastic, hilarious, and Media Boy is a legend. |

I think he's onto something though regarding the missing hd sports channels launching next week as i've seen a few rumours floating about that match with his times. However i'll believe it when i see them on the EPG lol. |

Ah i see, i agree his posts are interesting to read i also enjoy reading them..
But I enjoy the fact that media companies are aware of him, and keep feeding him rubbish to further humiliate him. |

It's all very well and good saying it's a laugh but I lost my considerable posting history through leaving this forum due to his acolytes reporting me for anything and everything critical of him.
Until the moderators of this forum seek to establish it as the "go to" forum for cable information I doubt that'll change - especially since Sky have sponsored some of the output of this forum in the past. |

Will be interesting to see how it all fits into this offer.
http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1984802 As whilst that deal doesn't state that the new HD channels are included it does say that two are. It also doesn't reveal if the F1 channel is included either, so overall it's not very clear at all, especially without an official launch date. |

trueblood posted on Cable Forum today, "I received this Virgin big bundle flyer in the post last week. This is the small print on TV page. It says sport HD channels available 15th July."
When did Media Boy call the 15th? Thursday, 3 July 2014 Certainly, if Media Boy does have any "insiders" they don't share information with him far in advance of it publically being known - I would think any "insiders" are quite junior in the organisation, so probably only get to know it slightly before the channel change. Possibly his "insider" is just getting slightly advanced access to published flyers, compared to when the average customers receives them in the post. Technix, however, has had some advanced exclusives - particularly the Sky Sports HD channels, so seems to have access to somebody more senior in Virgin Media. If you look back at Media Boy's posts, he previously seemed to have access to better information than he has now. Maybe he lost his best "insider" for some reason? |
