Is there any chance we'll get AMC? It will be available to BT Youview subscribers....
And to Sky customers as it will be on Sky too

Because we don't want US channels we want UK ones? Plus I don't think they'd allow it anyway due to programme rights issues.
I don't know, I would like channels from other countries. Widens the variety a bit on a provider you are paying for.

....but you do need to have the BT Sports pack to get the channel on Sky.

How do I receive the channel?
Sky: You need to be a subscriber to the BT Sport Pack on Sky. You will receive AMC, currently "at no extra cost".

Just weeks after moving BT Sport channels, BT sport and Sky Sports channels are to be grouped together in an EPG reshuffle.

A new one off event channel available to all will start on channel 548.

As expected, some channel slots have now been vacated and moved to their new homes.

The one off events channel on 548 has temporarily been renamed 'Channel Moved' and is currently showing an information slate for customers who previously visited this number for ESPN HD.

speaking of new channels

the red button BT Sport europe works.

and works well, the extra feeds are SD only though.

There are a few bugs:

1. going to BTSP Europe HD, pressing red, then choosing the first feed which is what BTSP Europe is sowing currently will then load the SD variant and not go back to the HD one.

2. the choose match screen says at the bottom "press sky/tv on your TiVo remote to exit this screen", obviously we don't have a sky button, we have a TV one though. so it should say home/tv instead.

Those with TV XL and paying an extra £3 from September might have justified the increase if AMC was included and not just to cover BT sport ?

Very much doubt that as BT Sport Showcase just tells everyone to contact BT. Doubt VM would want to show such a channel because of this! Furthermore, VM's marketing is not about getting the BT Sport channels, it's about seeing all the football.
As I understand it, BT Sport Europe will be FTV on the Sky and VM platforms when BT shows European matches on BT Showcase on Freeview and YouView.

perhaps BT showcase might end up like sky sports news?

technically you do get graphics similar on BTS Europe.

Quite simply put you need Sky or a NOW box to watch it.

Nothing to do with Virgin this time - as I am sure you know, its on a period of exclusivity between Sky and ITV.

Dont believe me? - tell me what other UK provider has it ....

im told it will eventually go to other platforms.
it started out as an itv3 like channel showing repeats but has now turned into a fresh drama channel.

The exclusivity will surely end soon. I get annoyed because for some it's impossible to get those by normal means.

thankfully now TV has both channels (Atlantic and ITV). so I watch via that, not brilliant but better than nothing.

people need to chill with "exclusive channels" because there will always be some VM has or doesnt have as they are part of the contents war and marketing differentiator

1. Spike is on Freeview so really not an issue.
2. Don't think anyone will miss a few shopping channels.
3. NO-ONE has Atlantic.
4. I'll concede the C4 HD variants (See what I did here? )
5. I'll concede AMC.

Spike is an issue for people like me who can't record from Freeview.

As well as those that don't have Freeview, because they chose Virgin Media as their TV provider.

Worth adding to tvmad-alan's list of missing channels:

- TruTV
- Universal HD
- Lifetime HD
- E! HD
- Crime & Investigation HD
- Disney Channel HD
- Disney Junior HD
- Disney XD HD
- Boomerang HD

Any cheap Freeview DVR will do. I picked up a second-hand one off ebay for under £100.

Anyone with TV can get Freeview if they want to. Yes, it might cost them a little extra for a box if they don't have it built into their TV but it still available.

Meh!

The others we at least have SD versions of. But yes, any more HD channels would be welcome.
