And yet still no UniversalHD
Universal HD is certainly one of the most obvious omissions.

History HD is even on BT TV now, yet we are still waiting!

ahh no

in terms of content BT youview does not block, it is at present blocking (because it is part of the youview board) sky from launching a full nowtv. It's been widely known, to the extent sky are even thinking about pulling out altogether. Makes sense.

Why would BT allow it? when BT sells sky sports itself? Sky have even said it themselves via their community forums.
Absolute nonsense, YouView is a neutral platform. Sky won't launch a live NowTV service on YouView as the costs for live channels are uneconomic for it.

points made....
As said not all virgin customers have a aerial to have freeview channels or have PVR to record those channels that virgin does not have .
Virgin should have ALL basic channels that are on national TV networks.

Also BT youview does not block any content from Sky's Now TV or Sky store only blocks you may see are from non payments to those services or any BT TV channels you many not pay for in your package...........

But would add that BT TV customers have many of the channels I listed that Virgin does no have .....

but it does go the other way around too..

Virgin has spent large on sports channels over the last years and this is the same with BT TV and Sky in the past.

I feel that after the moves on the EPG over the last year I hope that virgin are about to give a better deal for it's TV customers in giving all these and other channels in the next few months.......
- Spike
- HISTORY HD
- QVC+1 HD
- Hochanda
- Rocks & Co
- TJC Choice
- 4/7 HD
- 4+1 HD
- QVC Beauty HD
- AMC SD
- AMC HD
- TruTV
- Universal HD
- Lifetime HD
- E! HD
- Crime & Investigation HD
- Disney Channel HD
- Disney Junior HD
- Disney XD HD
- Boomerang HD
Out of that list, I believe that Lifetime HD may be on it's way. Channel 4 +1 HD and 4 seven HD are pencilled in to come at some point. The only reason that they are on Freeview now is to fill up capacity that would otherwise remain unused.

Excuse me it;'s not nonsense.

NowTV is already on there for movies, and was there for sports as well but only for talk talk customers. There was a technical limitation preventing live channels.

The platform certainly is not neutral. BT and talk talk are both members of youview.

The technical limitation has now been fixed, if you ask Sky why isn't the full nowtv available they will say they can't tell you.

if you were a bt customer and you only had access to sky sports 1 + 2 yet if you went through now you'd get all 5 + F1..... you'd do that surely.

I love how you instantly tried to dismiss me. By the way I have a retail youview humax, I do know what's on there.

edit:

now tv withdrawing from youview article

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/n...m-YouView.html

and now tv restrictions: not technology but rights:

http://help.nowtv.com/article/Entertainment-YouView

and more here

https://community.youview.com/youvie...-be-on-youview

sky have to pay £250,000 to allow the likes of talk talk etc to use their streams into a now tv app of course only available to talk talk / bt. An agreement has not been reached yet and while this continues I am sure BT want it in their favour.

it should be noted that the EE set tob box supports it as well as every other device, it is just youview thats suffering.

New channel The Splat may be coming soon.

Rumors that Nickelodeon will break out all the old favorite Nicktoons and series from the 1990s for a new TV network to be called The Splat appear to be true.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Viacom, the parent company of Nickelodeon, quietly debuted a website and social media campaign teasing “The Splat is Coming” on Friday. However, few other about the new network or when it will launch were provided.

Sounds great let's hope that Cartoon Network and Disney Channel do the same with proper 90s shows not what we have on Boomerang.

I agree, so much great content from the past out there in the archives waiting for channels like these to show them again!

I never understand why they don't show them on specialised channels as there is a demand for them. Also a lot if them aren't even released on DVD either and even if it is it usually is not available in the UK so it's not as if that's an option.

Lifetime HD is now testing off the EPG in preparation for launch. ITV Encore rumoured to be coming in the summer.

Isn't this a premium ITV channel - and will therefore also be one on VM - or was it just a "Sky exclusive" for a while? (I'm genuinely not sure!)

It launched as a Sky exclusive for an unspecified amount of time- the Guardian speculated that the period was for 18 months, but this was never confirmed.

A suggested launch on VM of this summer would mean an exclusively period of 2 years.

So a few new channels rumoured to be coming in this summer? Would that be Summer 2016? Summer 2015 has gone, late September isn't summer!
History HD was rumoured but it never arrived!

All you need to remember is that VM never confirm channel launches until either the last minute or even after it's appeared.

Agree with this, Richard I suspect you have got wind of this rumour from CF, where sadly the same poster that has raised this is now well-known for being wide of the mark.

First of all History HD was testing (which it wasn't)
http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/35...-post2442.html

Then it was launching on 14 July (which it didn't)
http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/35...-post2850.html

Then "VM will be getting AMC" (which we all know it didn't)
http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/35793157-post537.html

Within hours of that post, and the internet regurgitating it as gospel, all of a sudden it was reduced to "50/50"
http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/35793245-post549.html

I'm sorry, but making educated (or uneducated) guesses based on probability and posting them as having been given by 'sources' with the disclaimer they are just "rumour" is nonsense. If you throw enough mud at the wall, some of it will stick.

How can something be both "expected" and "rumoured" by a source at the same time? I'm not suggesting there isn't a possibility ITV Encore won't launch within the next year, I haven't the foggiest either way - and I'm not going to pretend otherwise.

Summer 2015 has indeed gone. This coming summer can only, therefore, be summer 2016!

This is only in relation to ITV Encore. Lifetime HD is testing right now and expected to join the EPG in October or November.

Latest viewing figures for AMC are appalling. I don't think it will be too long before this channel is on VM.

Remember when LFC went Sky only and had to backtrack?

In the meantine, for those wanting this channel for FTWD, another forum member has pointed out that the first four episodes of Fear The Walking Dead are on YouTube. Good quality, in English but with Spanish subtitles.

It would be a nice addition but I guess that depends on BT's strategy for the channel. They appear to be using it to drive TV and broadband subscriptions, so viewing figures may not be the key measurement at this stage (though obviously they are a by-product of that).

It would be a nice addition, but I'm not sure how many people would see it as a

Whatever their strategy I'm sure they were hoping for better than 16k viewers for their second best rated programme.
