How exciting!

Footy fans will already have it and no-one else will care.

Well this thread is about new channels so I think your reply is a bit unnecessary.

Okay. However, it is actually an existing channel which is simply being made available to everyone for free for a while. So not a new channel in that respect either then.

So how was your posting it any more relevant?

As per MB two more channels have started testing on Virgin Media.

They are:

- NDTV Spice (I'm assuming that this is a food channel).

- NDTV India. This is a news channel and will be (at least initially) a VM exclusive.

- There are rumours that a NASA App may be added to TiVo.

Also truTV and S4C HD are now testing too.

And yet still no UniversalHD

(Sorry, I know... shut up. It's just that this is really the only channel I'm missing even though there's actually never much on there.)

It looks like Hum Masala won't be appearing after all as it's no longer testing.

That's Solent is also testing for those in the relevant area.

Two music channels are to be replaced on all platforms:

- Smash Hits and The Box will close.

- Box Hits & Box Upfront will start and be joined by a "bespoke social-first digital channel" called BeBox.

It is said that this is to meet the "changing dynamic of youth media consumption".

Looks like it's Heat and Smash Hits that are to close http://m.broadcastnow.co.uk/5104184.article

I don't remember that ever being mentioned as testing, only Arabic Hafla???

It'll be interesting to see what impact the Box rebrands will have on ratings. Smash Hits and Heat are easily the weakest brands and generic music channels that blend into a crowded market.

According to S4C themselves, only their Euro 2016 matches will be available in HD on Virgin Media. Sky and Freesat will get the full service. What a random arrangement - how on earth did S4C and Virgin arrive at that?!

It was testing off the EPG for ages, but was then removed at some unknown point.

Really? That's amazing. However, I'm sorry to say that I won't be able to help you as it will either....

1/ come with the original software so will basically be an over-sized door-stop

or

2/ have the AltEPG software installed about which I know absolutely nothing. (See also here.)

Good luck and do let me know how you get on

Anyone know anything about the two new channels appearing on Virgin's website
under the Sport section - Formula E and Coppa90?

http://store.virginmedia.com/discove...tch/intro.html

Are they On Demand channels or Linear channels?

If they are Linear channels please could you tell me the channel numbers,
as they do not appear on Virgin's PDF document

Thank You

Coppa 90 is on demand. Formula E was a pop up channel for one race weekend, but it may have an on demand presence too.

Rumour that Spike may join VM in November, with TruTV testing off the EPG, it looks like VM may finally be bringing the missing Freeview channels to their platform.

Got it. When I said I "know nothing" about AltEPG I meant I'd never actually used it. I knew of it's existence as I was around when it was created of course

I've been given this information as to why Copa 90 is on VM:
