A little bird tells me (unofficialy) that Spike will be launching next Thursday.
It's not even broadcasting off the EPG yet, so they'll have to get a move on!

I was going to applaud the addition of TruTV. But then I checked the schedule. Oh well. I guess some will appreciate it.
I like the look of this channel. Lots of back-to-back Psychic Detectives, Passport to Murder, also America's Got Talent ... but then I am easily pleased.

trutv.co.uk is the appropriate website of course (not trutv.com which is the American listings).

Yep. All the stuff I can't stand; hence my comment

I just checked their website. Their entire programme output is just ten shows.

From 4 August 2016 BT Sport Europe is to be renamed BT Sport 3 and their BT Sport Ultra HD channel is to be renamed BT Sport 4K.

Their channels will also be shuffled around on the EPG.

Is Virgin a good choice for someone who isn't into watching sport much?

Yes, there's a good alternative choice to sport, although I've seen some XL TV customers complain that their subscription goes towards BT Sport as they would prefer something else.

As per MB/Virgin Media source:

- Sky Sports Mix and Sky Sports Mix HD will launch later this summer.

- 8 channels to launch for the Rio Games.

America's Got Talent is very popular - as are similar programmes world wide, seems strange that none of the Major channels are prepared to show it. It was on ITV2 for a few years then I think 5 Star picked it up.

No plans that I'm aware of, it seems more likely that we will get Spike first.

Thanks for the info about Motors TV & Vintage TV going down to M+.

Well Spike is not here. So the little bird is wrong.

According to Channel 5:

We can confirm that Spike is not launching on Virgin Media this week. While we would like to make Spike available on this platform, there are no plans to do so for the foreseeable future.

Sounds to me like Viacom want Spike to be on VM, but felt unable to accept the deal offered to them by VM.

Or they were asking too much and VM didn't want to pay it. (Viacom are hardly going to admit that, are they?)

Could be, but channels in the M package usually pay VM to be on the platform.

There is speculation that Universal HD may fill the old BBC4 HD slot.

There are rumours that Amazon Prime may join VM later this year.

Thanks for this. It looks like it will be making it even more of a mess. They should move the HD versions of there final channels onto 101-105 like on sky and make the +1 channels at the end of each section in the same order or move them next to the channels.

I totally agree but, apparently, VM are restricted by contractual obligations and regulations with regards to EPG positioning.

According to the link below, Virgin Media Ireland is launching Sky Sports Mix.
http://www.irishtimes.com/business/m...ring-1.2726352

Assuming Virgin Media are doing new channel deals for the UK and Ireland as a whole (such as H2 HD was a Europe-wide deal for Liberty Global) and given there's a lovely gap in the UK EPG at 507, I wonder if Sky Sports Mix might make an appearance this side of the Irish Sea too...?
