IIRC it was someone who said that they were a VM employee (engineer I think).

that was the same time as VM sent me an email saying stand by for some good news...
nothing came that hit me in the face with a wow... but then a lot of their announcements like their exclusive box sets, their exclusive "first see" of new red dwarf etc didn't really float my boat... it may even have been the renaming to "full house" VM was referring to...

who knows...

BBC4 has failed to start today at 7pm.

Anyone know why?

Is this just VM only?

Currently showing the VM off air slate.

Just checked both BBC 4 channels and it is running for me. Have you tried changing channel and back to see if it refreshes and unlocks?

Thank you, that did the trick.

The first half hour of my recording is now the the off air slate; can't VM do anything right?

Could it be the iPhone 7? Is this the first time VM have got the latest iPhone at launch? I thought they were normally a year behind.

I've now found out that it was broadcasting properly on the other platforms, so it looks like either VM didn't switch from the off air slate to the BBC4 HD feed, or it's another oddity that's appearing since the TiVo software update.

I tried the children's channel that it timeshares with and that had an off air slate too, as I remember that at one time CBeebies appeared on BBC4 during its downtime and BBC4 would appear on CBeebies during its downtime.

This has happened to me occasionally on BBC3 and this was well before the latest update; so it's not that. So your former suggestion is more likely.

Been told this, so it could have been neither of my possible explanations!

happens most often when you try and record the first BBC4 programme of the evening.

this has been a bug in the TiVO software for quite a while, nothing to do with the recent upgrade.”

Yeah i noticed it wasn't put onto the EPG too, They must have postponed the launch then. But it was set for 4th though either way.

And as for if it is in HD, i hope it is, but i do not think it will be :P

All I can tell you is that the channel testing off the EPG is in SD.

Just heard that the Boomerang app is said to be coming to TiVo.

What do they actually test? Surely by now they know if a channel will work or not.

"Testing" is probably the wrong word to use as I suspect that the technical aspects are done to overcome any difficulties that arise whilst the legalities & carriage negotiations are completed.

Some end up on the EPG after a matter of days, whilst some stay in off EPG mode for months!

No problem

VM Ireland viewers may be losing access to Russia Today (RT) if the rumours are true.
