So maybe it launches in a day or two?

I know that Amazon too was said to launch on the 10th november. so it is now past midnight, so lets see if it gets added in the next few hours, usually channels and apps get added in the early hours between 1am and 4am.
Just checked and it's still not been added to channel 205.

I've seen a report that says sources say that Amazon video was due to launch today on Virgin Media, but they've hit a snag and it may not now launch until the first quarter of 2017

BT have done a deal with BoxNation to simulcast 20 fights on BT Sport 1, meaning that XL/Full House and BT Sport subscribers will be able to watch them.

It's been speculated that BoxNation itself will join the XL/Full House packs in January and become available to BT Sport subscribers at no extra cost.

Pity its not Premier Sports. Not that I like that channel, but I just want to see some NHL.

Well, BT seem to be going down the same route as Setanta (and Virgin Media to an extent) and adding standalone channels to their own pack at a bargain price.

The channel owners get more money from effectively having lots of small subscribers as opposed to a lot less paying higher subscriptions with added administration costs.

It wouldn't surprise me if BT also did a deal with Premier Sports & Racing UK, which by default would become available to VM customers

Here's hoping. Although it'd be nice if the NHL got their act together and let their output be broadcast on a proper channel, with HD etc.

Is 4Music in the 'free' M/TV Player pack?

If not, watch out for it dropping to this pack as it looks to be going FTA on satellite.

Eurosport announced today that it is going to show Pro12 rugby.

For those on the M/Player package MB says that some games will be on Eurosport Extra (AKA Quest).

I never knew that Eurosport used Quest as an overflow channel (or to promote their offering), whichever is the case.

Excellent news, cheers Andy

This and Channel 4 +1 HD were initially Freeview exclusives in order to help fill the two temporary HD muxes and to drive take up of Freeview HD boxes, so this must have now come to an end.

Both 4+1 HD and 4 seven HD are still on Freeview so it must be a long term temporary arrangement.

AFAIK they are staying on Freeview permanently, in fact, there's a rumour that E4 HD may join them next year and go FTA.

Kix is said to now be listed off the VM EPG.

There is speculation that the cutbacks by the owners of Digital Spy may lead to the closure of some or all of the forums.

If the forums do remain, I imagine that the technical media forums will be scrapped first in any downsizing as the site has become more focussed on showbiz/celebrity/gossip etc.

In my experience, forums (in fact businesses in general) tend to deny that anything is wrong right up until the last minute in order to try and appease suppliers, customers and staff.

In the case of forums, they often abruptly close.

In the eventually that this should happen, the team at satellites.co.uk have kindly set up a place for us to migrate to.

As is the case with DS, no discussion of illegal activities will be permitted.

Jimbo who runs the Weekly Satellite thread says that he may also migrate his thread here too.

Might be worth bookmarking this link so that members can find our new home should the worst happen

Cheers, Richard - have bookmarked the site. It seems like how DS used to be years ago!

What i would like to know is? where do these sources come from? who can see channels testing? do you need special equiptment? or can anyone see them? with a STB in engineer mode or something?

Would be interested to know?

Update on TiVo:

Great channels. New Homes.

On 29 November these channels will be moving to cosy new homes

Channel 4 +1 from 143 to 142
Channel 4 HD from 142 to 141
More 4 HD from 203 to 195
4Seven from 195 to 143
I.D. from 253 to 170
I.D. +1 from 254 to 171
DMAX from 170 to 213
DMAX +1 from 171 to 214
Therefore I think it's quite likely that 4Seven HD will launch on 203.

Sources are a mixture as are the various ways to check for anything broadcasting off the EPG.

Thanks, I imagine that 4Seven HD will join the EPG on 6 December.

This gives the old channel number a week to show a slate advertising where it's moved to (to reduce the queries to the call centre).

I believe those who can view channels off the EPG use a TV with a built in cable tuner and plug the coax directly into the TV which can then be tuned in to the correct frequency.

That's one of the ways, computer scans, alternative cable boxes etc can also be used.

People are unlikely to elaborate too much as this is against VM t&c's.
