Why don't series links work across channels
OK, so I originally reported this a few weeks ago in another thread which was something do with EastEnders moving channels due to the Olympics and series links not working. I mirrored my experince when recording the F1 (in SD) as that is spread across BBC 1, BBC 2 and BBC 3. Original Post: Quote:
I noticed that when recording the F1 that BBC1 SD and BBC2 SD both use the same series CRID as expected. However, the first weekend that they split the qualifying/race/highlights across BBC 1 and BBC 2 I noted that only the BBC 1 recordings were scheduled. As the F1 is back this weekend I thought I would see what the FOXSAT is doing. The series link was last setup on BBC 1 and sure enough as I suspected it has scheduled the BBC 1 qualifying on Saturday and the race on Sunday (also on BBC 1) but there is no sign of the highlights which are on BBC 3 Sunday evening.Cancelling the BBC 1 series link and re-scheduling the series again on BBC 1 I discovered that it picked up all showings across BBC 1 and BBC 2 as expected. A couple of weekends later and the same scenario - BBC 1 recordings scheduled but no BBC 2 recordings scheduled even though they had split it across both channels. Using the web interface and checking the scheduled events it did indeed show that the next events column had only got those that were on BBC 1 yet using the EPG search and selecting the series link via the web interface listed all showings on both BBC 1 and BBC 2 (and that they had different episode CRIDs as expected). Again removing and resetting the series link scheduled all showings on BBC 1 and BBC 2 as expected. Looks like another bug thats escaped Humax testing Note this only applies to SD recordings as the BBC use different series CRID codes accross BBC One HD and BBC HD so you have to have two seperate series links for HD. Checking the Series CRID I can see that all 3 episodes are: fp.bbc.co.uk/L0NX5Y and the individual episodes are: fp.bbc.co.uk/7A37M0 (BBC 1 - Saturday Qualifying) fp.bbc.co.uk/7A37LQ (BBC 1 - Sunday Race) fp.bbc.co.uk/7A37LG (BBC 3 - Sunday highlights) I have not tried it, but I am certain that if I remove the series link and reset it then it will schedule all showings across BBC 1 and BBC 3. Anyone else concur? Is it something to do with the way the BBC have allocated the epsiode CRID's which is incorrect or is it a genuine bug? |

Just tried it (having not currently got a series link set from BBC 1 SD), and indeed that's what has happened.
I think this feature has been dodgy for a while but it has only come to light the past few weeks because the Olympics forced several BBC1 programmes to be moved to BBC 2 and previously for the F1 highlights programme on BBC 3 they always gave it a different series CRID. It is only recently that they started giving all F1 showings across BBC 1, BBC 2 and BBC 3 the same series CRID. |

For me the previous HD race (quali, race) link has worked for this w/e, but I had to set another highlights one, so I have 2 highlights series links...

where are you seeing what the CRID codes should be and what they actually are?
I have an echostar box. |
