I love how in Corrie land characters can just be sacked from their jobs. Like Tommy from the garage, and recently Karl from Street Cars, all for personal reasons.

And shouldn't Dev of shut down his joint bank account after the separation.

Wow, that was quick! Part 6 already!

If Dev had a lick of sense he would have moved a load of cash out of that account asap. Not that I'm speaking from experience or anything....

Of course he would, it was the first thing that I did, blocked the joint account and opened my own account

Why the hell would anyone want to buy a Chinese smoke detector? You would think the amount of fires on the street, they wouldn't need an upgrade.

Better to flog it off elsewhere.

This is Corrie we are talking about.

Now which scenario is most likely - A or B?

A. Who thinks the money will be back in the account before Dev notices it's gone?

B: Who thinks the money won't be back in the acccount Dev notices it's gone?

C. Who thinks that, on the way to buy the smoke alarms, he's told of a sure thing and bets the lot on it?

Well the whole 'Chinese smoke alarms' sounded as if we'd strayed into Del Boy territory!

But, yes, I'll go C - seems a likely development.

Yep it IS ludicrous how someone can just be sacked from a job for nowt, but then, they all get a job within days of coming into the show.

And yes, the buying of the smoke alarms storyline is daft. Who is going to buy them?

Nah I think, (hoping) that tiny fireman installs one in Eileens house and there is a fire and either

a) It doesn't work and he is killed in the fire
b) It does work but he has ear plugs in (Due to Kevin's DIY) doesn't hear it and is killed in the fire.

Different reason - same result.

I was quite amused that Karl is giving some of these smoke alarms to Chesney to flog at the market! I thought he sold dog collars and all dog related stuff, so now he seems to be a jack of all trades!

What's happened to the Bookies since Peter scampered away?

I thought Leanne was running it, but we have seen little evidence so far.

I'm surprised we haven't had a rash of fires, now we have a real (pocket-sized) fireman on the street. In much the same way as we always get an increase in illnesses as soon as a new doctor is introduced.

It doesn't seem more than 5 minutes ago that Dev was facing bankruptcy, so I'm surprised he has that much in his current account anyway.

I thought just the same - don't worry, this time next year they'll be millionaires!

I'm informed she's looking after the strange curly one, who isn't in the middle of the atlantic as I thought. It's not as though they had many customers, anyway.
