Hello...and risible new deal offered with orange. Need better!
My contract runs out in a few days, and currently I'm on some species of Dolphin that was offering me 100 minutes (plus 100 loyalty) unlimited texts and 500mb internet. £15 a month, which they kindly hiked up to 17.75 for me without me even having to ask!
Plus a Samsung Wave (remember those!) which I took on the promise from the guy on the phone of a decent app store and OS support from Samsung. Well look what happened there. Great phone, hardware wise, had it over two years and barely a mark on it, decent battery life too. But the Bada internet browser doesn't work well with blogger, and doesn't at all with yfrog and mobypic and tumblr. Otherwise I'd keep it and go Sim only. Phoned up the "Oh look my old contract is running out" department, and having explained all this was offered this stunning upgrade deal. 100 minutes, 500 texts, 500mb internet (might have been 250 actually, can't remember) for 15 quid, plus a Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 or an Orange San Francisco 2. Kiddy phones which spec wise are worse than the Wave. That deal is a joke. 3 offer miles better deals for things like Nokia 610 - a bit low specced, or Galaxy Ace 2 - all you can eat for 17 quid. The hassle of moving, plus the insurance issue, makes me worried to move. So, do I do the "The deals you are offering me are shit, please give me a PAC code sharpish" thing? Is that what you do. Customer of 12 years standing and until my job was outsourced, a decent spending one too. I don't want a lot, equivalent deal to the one I have now with a bit more internet, an Orange San Diego (by all accounts an excellent phone for the money) or an S2 will do me, and more internet. But I am a soft spoken sort of fellow... Advice appreciated! |

They don't know what you're going to spend in the following 24 months, however if it's still low then you'll get offered very little when you upgrade again. |

I'd still expect something better than that! Like offering a slightly more up to date phone and not some child spec pocket calculator! If I leave, they won't make any money out of me at all!

Offer of Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 - 200 mins, unlimited texts, 750mb internet. 20.50 including VAT.
A better deal! Not sure whether to take this or the Orange San Diego though, which I'm sure is an equivalent phone they'd give me |

Got the San Diego - researched this, comparisons have it an easy winner over the Ace 2

No, I'm no hacker! I've followed the saga of folk on modaco chewing their own feet off trying to make any progress. The camera is slightly off putting, but the rapid web browsing and strong batterly life are attractive, I just need blogger, tumblr, lj and a decent twitter app. Plus Starwalk or similar for my astronomy habits!
