I've just realised that First Telecom appear to be closing their telephone service on 15th Sept 2012. In my case that'll mean the end of Cable Saver, which has saved me quite a bit over the years compared to NTL / Virgin Media. I've also got a 'Top Up and Talk' account of theirs, with over £20 credit. When using the service there's a recorded message saying to use the credit by 15th September. Hmmm.

strange, I have not heard about this, i was with First Telecom until a month ago and a friend of mine is still with them. their website is still up and running.

Ask your friend to look online at the latest bill, it has the details. I've asked for a refund of my Top Up and Talk credit, which they'll do if the balance is over £15 (subject to a £5 charge.)

Ask your friend to look online at the latest bill, it has the details. I've asked for a refund of my Top Up and Talk credit, which they'll do if the balance is over £15 (subject to a £5 charge.)
Maybe it is just top and talk that they doing away with, my friends account is still fine and nothing on that at all.

First Telecom Cable Saver stopped working today. Very annoying.

Cable saver and top up and talk seems to have gone, but the normal services still seem to be working.
