what i can never understand about o2 (works phone) is the mysterious signal loss, for some unknown reason the signal dissappears for a few hours then comes back, or the signal is weak in an area with usually full signal, then a few hours later its back full, this happens quite a lot with us at work, most of the time on 2G also the phone will have full signal and calls will go to VM after a few hours again it fixes itself and its not just my phone

I get the same with Vodafone. So it's not an O2 only issue.

My Samsung will some times display full signal but pull down the status bar and you will see EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY so you actually have any signal, or my lumia it will loss signal but make a call and the signal miraculously reappears.

I get that too.

I guess it's when you don't have a signal with your network it shows the signal strength for the network it has connected to for the emergency calls?

Well I was just wondering the same which is what brought me here to this page
Just signed up for a 12 month sim only deal, Finding next to no 3G whatsoever with o2. Travel From Gloucester, Bristol, Cardiff and up to the midlands with next to nothing 3G.

Think I may be terminating the contract early. Cant see how they would deal with smartphones if the only 3G coverage they got is in or around London? lol

O2 3G (and 2G come to that) is fine on my wife's GNote. Tested in Cumbria, Manchester and Liverpool.

I'm on O2 and I have had good 3g coverage, my boyfriend is on Vodafone and I always have better signal than him and fast internet apart from one area in St Albans!
