Hi all strictly lovers. After 5 years of waiting for my tickets I'm finally getting the chance to go to the live show next week. There are lots of old messages about strictly tips but no up to date messages re what time to queue from to ensure a good seat. So I'm hoping that someone out there who has been to a recent live show can help me out. I'm coming a long way to see this show so would be very disappointed if I didn't get in .

I went on the first Saturday this year. It was a lovely day weather wise and we started queuing from about 8.15am as we didn't want to risk not getting a guaranteed entry to the show. We were numbers 59 and 60 in the queue. Some people did arrive around 12 noon, but they were way at the back of the queue, so you take a risk arriving later in the day. We took picnic chairs to sit on and took it in turns to go for a walk, coffee etc. Tickets were validated around 12.15pm when you were given your numbered sticker and told to come back around 3pm. We went away for lunch and came back around 4pm, queued up again before we were allowed into the Holding area. At 4.30pm ish we were called into the studio in strict numerical order 1-30, 31-60 etc to be seated. The lower numbers got the better seats.

Coffee, tea and snacks are on sale in the holding area and toilet facilities are available too. We got to chat, meet with many of the dancers and celebs once inside the studio, but no photos allowed!

It was a great experience, although it was a warmish, bright day which made all the difference. A cold, wet day would have made for a very different experience particularly as you spend most of the day waiting around.

How do you get tickets? I've applied for the last seven years and no luck Is there a secret I should know about which will get me a better chance??

i don't know if its a secret but here's how i managed to get the golden tickets. Managed to get tickets two years on the run by cajoling non strictly family and friends to register their emails for every show (except Blackpool too far for me). Got lucky my first year of applying in my name, second year got my boyfriend to register and got lucky then. My son's girlfriend also registered her email and home address and was successful last year but didn't check her email in time and only confessed her error to me six months later!! Spread your chances that way and apply for every show.. that's my tip☺
