The thing about the new John Lewis ads is why is it so long and why does it not really tell us anything about John Lewis other than its 'never knowingly undersold' bit. seen it like 3 times today already

also that Mcdonalds coffee advert is annoying, could they not do a newer one instead of repeating the old one?

wonder how long its gonna be till the first xmas ad

I like the idea behind the John Lewis ad, but that woman murdering Never Tear Us Apart should be shot, IMHO.

For some reason that reminds me of the credits for 'Jamie and the Magic Torch'.

The Maggi (sp?) advert for those packets of flavouring.

Firstly, it fails the 'annoying child' test with flying colours. Secondly, it fails the 'aren't kids funny when they say stupid stuff?' test. Seriously, mum, you're giving your child fairly low expectations if he thinks putting a bit of powder from a sachet into a frying pan and giving it a bit of a stir is up there with the discovery of the theory of relativity!

Finally, the 'Mum's a geeeeeniuuuus' 'She really is' banter between child and father at the end is so badly acted/dubbed that dad actually sounds insincere about it, with his wistful look off into the distance giving an undertone of 'can't wait to file for divorce'.

.. either that, or the 'she really is' is meant to be some horrible, subtle sex reference.

I don't think it's going to be long; they're already showing the 'keeping warm' adverts like the tea advert with Johnny Vegas and the monkey making themselves a cuppa after a cold day shopping.

Not liking the Crunchy Nut Cornflakes new one.

John Lewis one is ok though, if a little pretentious.

I hate that annoying, spoiled little brat in that advert...the way he sticks his fork in the pan of steak before anyone has even been served and shoves the meat into his greedy gob makes me wish I was there to send him to his room without any supper!

The other half read that, her opinion is that how did something so smutty with no plot by a person with very delayed intelligence get published.

Would it be illegal to set up an ambush on the Kia car band?
Just asking!

The advert currently annoying me, which has probably been mentioned already, is the one with the girl talking about doing make-up and every so often singing along to the song that's playing. I can never remember what it's actually advertising. It just seems to me like she's saying "I do adverts but, listen, I can also sing! Please sign me up so that I can release this as a single!".

It's has to be the blood in your poo advert.
I just hate it. I understand the point they're trying to get across but it's done in such a way that feels like if you do suffer from that then there's no point going to the doctor, you're going to die no matter what.
Every time it comes on I have to mute the tv.

Awful advert.

Just saw this ad for the first time this weekend, thank god.

BIB: I completely agree. It's almost like they are saying, you are DOOMED!

Also, I love the John Lewis ad... it makes me cry... but so did the Bold one with the two little girls.

I'm going to fly into an apocalyptic rage when I see the latest John Lewis ad, from the descriptions here. I can't stand arty farty ads. This isn't a 6th form college art project, you're here to tell me why your product is worth buying/shop is worth visiting.
