I can't find a rant about it on here - but the Maybelline (or however it's spelt) with their super-duper mascara that now makes your eyes look even bigger (or something) modeled for you by their super-duper models and the music in the back ground is sharp dressed man by ZZ top. Like the tune, but who thought that was a good idea?

I dont like the advert for Macmilan nurses were they show people and children falling and saying how many will get cancer in a year. We lost my mother in law to cancer last february and she had macmillan nurses visiting . I am not saying they shouldnt be brought to the nations attention but show them in a different way rather than the present one .

Tbh .... This the first ad that has made me cry about people having Cancer. I am wondering if this will promote more donations as it hit my heart

The new McDonald advert that features a young step father/partner trying to bond with the young boy.

Boy is not impressed with sport bonding via football or culture bonding through the vinyl record collection but is impressed with a burger offering, just incredibly offensive.

Oh I don't look at it that way. I'm just annoyed by the way the kid only starts to like his step dad the minute he takes him to McDonalds, that's the kind of attitude you'd expect from a toddler not a teenager.

On a side note, that Leerdammer advert looks like an unfunny, low brow and less-creative-with-various-guises version of this Family Guy gag.

You beat me to it. I lost my mum to it in 1996 and she was cared for by Macmillan. My problem with this ad is it depicts the delivering of the news of cancer being received in such horror that the person collapses.

On one hand ads like Cancer Research try to paint an upbeat picture, that cancer survival rates are on the up, and that cancer is not a definite death sentence, then we see ads like this that are almost trying to paint the exact opposite picture.

Some may argue the shock tactics are necessary but I would argue that this may be more likely to alienate people from the cause.

I believe many people living with cancer, in remission, and people like me and my family who live in its shadow, not to mention children that are watching, will find these images both troubling and demoralising.

People need to be made aware of the good work Macmillan do, but in my opinion this is not the way to do it.

It's almost as if the advert is trying to present a McDonalds meal as something that can bring people together and change entire relationships, in order to make it seem more appealing to the customer.....
