Starting out with series 1 next week, I'm a huge Stephan Graham fan and this has slipped past me for to long now and there are some other big names in it I see, can't wait

I LOVE it--but how can they do a Series 3 when they pretty much killed off or destroyed so many main characters too soon in the Series 2 finale?? The real life Nucky was even cleverer & went on thru the 1920s. [Also didn't have that nauseating wife] Great show though and Buscemi is superb as always.

I can't wait. So excited. But something tells me Margaret won't get what's coming to her until season 4.
I think it'll be ok without Jimmy. It'll give other people, and newbies, more breathing space. (i hope Jimmy's dirty, sexy mum is still around, yumitty yum) |

Indeed. Glad to see Richard is still a stone cold killer.

I think he is in some sort of business with Jimmy's mother.

Richard's working for Gillian, Jimmy's rather messed up & disturbing mother. She told the escorts (?) that he was the caretaker. He seems to just look after the kid.
His killing of the Forsythe's character was IMO obviously simply revenge for Angela (Jimmy's wife). |

Maybe, but she asked him if he was going out that evening, it didn't sound as though they were conspiring together
![]() Maybe it's too subtle for me ![]() Matt's suggestion figures, but he's doing it on his own account not under instruction from Gillian, who's most anxious that Angela should be forgotten. That's what I think now, thanks for the feedback

Good episode but strange at the same time. Does anybody else feel like me that they are not watching what was originally intended for this show. Especially the killing of Jimmy and the turn around of Van Alden.

Also, who else felt a bit nervous for that poor dog, before the gangster gave it away?

Dan, I wasn't criticising your use of spoiler alert, far from it - being the first episode it would have literally spoiled it for the William Forsythe fan. I was just excusing myself for introducing discussion of the assassination in a roundabout way
![]() I felt nervous for the dear doggie from the moment it appeared on screen, becoming a wreck until it was handed over I have not registered what Mrs Nucky's attitude to animals is, she can be pretty ruthless and is steeped in superstition.

I'm not clear on what you're asking, but note that time has passed since Jimmy and Angela's demise.
