I have just got a new job. Part of which involves a small amount of phone calls and I could do with accessing the internet (which will probably be used more than calls/texts). My job is in a charity shop so comparing/checking out prices is important to make sure I am pricing the items correctly.

I'm looking for a phone that does the internet with reasonable fee.

THanks muchly for any help

Budget ?

How much data are you planning on using, basic web browsing will only be a couple of hundred MB a month, once you start watching online video it could go up to GB.

Are you looking at contract (which normally subsidises a phone) or SIM only (where you buy your own phone)

Ok this is hard for me. I'm probably looking at a contract but my wages mean I can't spend any more than £40 a month at most. Phone call text wise my last £5 has lasted me 3 months. we have a phone at work I have a landline (part of our internet deal). So I basically want to access clothes websites/ebay things like that to make sure I am putting the best price on the items we are selling.

Don't worry, you don't need to spend anything like £40 a month,

For example at the moment 3 will do you a Samsung Galaxy SII with all you can eat Data, 500 Mins and 5000 texts for £25 a month, with a one off cost for the phone of £29

Do you need to do this on the fly? Would you be able to do this at home on your pc before you go in?

Its a thing that needs to be done at work. I'm only new to pricing so if I can find the original price of the Item I can work out how much to sell it second hand.

The manager has a I pad but she is not well at the moment. The assistant manager effed off and they are promoting me. The clothes come in and I need to put them out straight away.

Are there any wifi hotspots nearby you can use or maybe a neighbouring shop might let you use theirs?

If you say what you would like to spend then it will let people give you and idea of handsets.

For example I pay for my galaxy note £15 month 1gb data (with 3gb wifi openzone) I also have sky with access to their cloud hotspots (500 txts and 50 min calls). I rarely use my phone for calls and it sounds like you don't either.

So you don't need to pay more than this really, unless you want maybe an s3 etc.

This is good if you just want to do as you say in your post. A Motorola Motosmart android phone. It is not the best handset around but will easiy accomplish what you want comes with
50 minutes - Any network, any time
100 texts - Any network, any time
250 MB - Basic internet

Best bit though for only £5 a month

Even better- don't worry about the "basic internet" bit-it seems to me most of your internet will be browsing, which won't be counted towards your data allowance. With TMobile (I work for them) even if you use your data allowance up (very unlikely) they won't sting you with extra charges or cut off your internet, they just restrict data streaming until the following month. It's a good deal.

that does not make sense, how can data browsing not count towards your data allowance ?

What does count towards your data allowance then ?

Things like video steaming or downloading will count but just web browsing does not.
