If you want fast internet then go for Three, if you want better coverage go with Giffgaff as youll have the option of using the 2G network, though o2s 3G network has a lot to be desired.

It all depends on the coverage in your area. I personally found GG data to be quite slow.

The 'Ultimate Internet SIM 200 1 month' plan from Three is £12.90 a month and includes

200 minutes
5000 texts
All-you-can-eat data
1 month rolling contract.

A cheaper option is the Essential Internet SIM 200 12 month plan with AYCE data add-on. Same minutes and texts as above and total cost £9.90 per month.

Personally I'd avoid both, Three is either perfect when you have signal or just has no signal and Giff Gaff I found very unreliable for data, which is such a shame as they have some very good rates.

Giff gaff just uses the O2 network (since it is owned by O2), so check their 3G coverage on their website. I was looking at switching to O2 from Orange, but they have not got a 3G network here.

I wouldn't choose either network if my life depended on it.

T-Mobile are doing an offer at the moment. £21 per month for unlimited everything (calls, texts and data) now that's a bargain!

Pop into a Three shop and ask for a SIM card you can try out at home.

I made the mistake many many years ago of switching to Three from Vodafone and had a very bad time of it. Bad signal mainly.

So when l heard about the One Plan from Three last year, l was sceptical about moving back to Three. So l popped into my local Three shop and they gave me a SIM card with something like 10mins of calls and 50mb of data, not quite sure of the exact figures, but probably not far off.

Got really good signal at home, work and all my usual haunts. So l made the decision to move to Three and have very happy with my unlimited data plan. Yay.

Have you travelled far? Any info on what a train journey was like for signal?
