Suddenly, choosing Iplayer on my Sony Bluray, I just get the message: "The server response is invalid. No further redirection can be done." Lovefilm, Channel 5 and all other internet services are working fine.

Anyone else having the same or similar problems? Is it a temporary outage just effecting Iplayer on Sony TV? (Wii Iplayer working fine but the quality is rubbish on that...)

Same message with my Sony Blu-ray player. Other online services are working.

[edit] Iplayer on PS3 is working ok, though.

Same here - iPlayer working OK online - hope this is not a Sony update issue.

Same message on my blu-ray.
Bravia TV shows a white screen with 'this page display failed' message & some advice like checking url & connection.

Thanks, guys, at least I know it's not just my machine at fault.. there appears to be a problem with the Iplayer server that communicates with Sony Bravia. What internet provider do you all use? I am on the old Tiscali strand of what is now TalkTalk (which has been a problematic ISP with this in the past...) As the problem only affects Sony Bravia / Bluray users, nobody will care about this for a significant amount of time unless there are squeaky wheels so moan in all the right directions... I've whinged to the Iplayer people already and Sony... for all the good that'll do.

We're on Sky Broadband. It looks to me like a URL that the TV was connecting to is no longer valid. I see there have been changes to iPlayer this week that have caused problems with the XBOX version, which the BBC have acknowledged. There are probably more people who use it on the XBOX, so they make more noise

I've also reported the issue to BBC iPlayer support (and to the iPlayer Twitter account).

Same here. Sony Bluray and Sky BB. Gutted I wanted to watch masterchef lol.

Using Zen here, not Sky, so not an ISP issue.

We have the same problem with 2 Bravia TVs and a Sony Bluray player. Interestingly the BBC News ap works OK. Obviously a different server.

Can someone post links where we can report this issue. the more complaints the quicker they might sort it.

Here is the form for BBC Iplayer - start doing the pull-downs and more boxes will appear.

Here's a link to my Sony thread.. more people post there too the better as it's read by Sony reps like Catmambo.. they need a firework lit beneath their a*ses though so don't hold back on the whinge factor lol.

I have the same problem of I-Player being unavailable on my Sony 40EX723 starting 30/08/12. Other services, including BBC news, are still available. I've reported the issue to the BBC using the following link:

[url="http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/using_bbc_iplayer/tech_report"]URL]

There is a link on that page that allows you to fill in a report form.

Hope this helps !

I had the same problem yesterday and this morning with my Sony Bravia TV.

I've just checked it again at noon today and it's working again.

Yes, seems to be back on. Thanks to everyone who posted and reported.. can't have done any harm in terms of publicising the problem.

I am having problems accessing BBC iPlayer on my Sony Bravia Freesat TV model KDL-32W5810. You will see my Thread in the Freesat Forum, as yet nobody from the BBC iPlayer Team, Freesat Team, Sony Team or O2 Broadband has been able to shed any light on why the BBC iPlayer is no longer working.

Any assistance would be very grateful.

BBC iPlayer still works through my Samsung Blu-ray player and a Samsung Galaxt Tablet though.

Not working for me, either

I recall a similar problem a while back, which was something to do with the BBC not validating Sony devices correctly.

As Andy Denyer has said, the last time it happened it was a problem at the BBC end. The fix is to contact BBC I-player support - the more people who do it the quicker it will get fixed !

The link below might work for you otherwise look for I-player Help - Warning :FAQs easy to find but no use, the link to contact I-player is not easy to find!

Still not on - SOOOOOOO not cool, BBC. Stop making changes to Iplayer and forgetting that there may may be people who don't want to watch it on a postage-stamp sized f**king PC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
