Can sim cards stop working?
I love tea
30-08-2012
Hello, I have a Blackberry Curve 9320 and have been using the same sim card for about 7 years now. What I was wondering is, can a sim card wear out and stop working? As lately I've found texts are not always delivering (I have delivery report) and am wondering if that could be the cause of it?

Well yes SIMs can break, its a chip, it can fail. Would have though that the phone plain wouldn't work rather than what you are seeing though. Pretty rare too I'd guess.

SIMs are generally also bound to a maximum number of user authentications, however in this case its such a massive number (2^42 or something like that) that we'll probably all be dead several times over by the time it happens)
