Well my cat was on the mend but now projectile vomiting

Following being attacked a couple of weeks ago one of my one year old cats Leto was finally starting to heal, the vets were pleased that her wounds were starting to scab over properly and the antibiotics had done there job of keeping her infection free. She was more or less given a clean bill of health and her boosters were finally up to date, then yesterday she started projectile vomiting!

I have never seen a cat do this before and it scared the life out of me, the poor thing hasn't been able to keep anything down for 24 hours even water comes straight back out.

Took her to the vets who thankfully are right across the road and they said she may be reacting to booster as this is her first full one (her brother was fine after his two weeks ago) perhaps with all she has been through this just too much, they have given her something to settle her tummy to be given 3 times a day and yet more antibiotics, now here is the bit that I may be over worrying about they have also detected a heart murmur only level 1 but that was enough to push me over the edge after losing our beloved Charlie last year to heart problem (he had a heart murmur level 1 then between April and July developed further heart problem and died) Leto is not related to Charlie and I know I may be being paranoid but did not stop me bursting into tears at the vets.

They have let me bring her home as they did not want her to be anymore stressed than she was, she is quite clingy with me at the moment and will only be with me or like at the moment sleep, so worried about her she has been through so much for a one year old just want to make her better

does the vet know what might have attacked the cat, its just that an un neutered male cat attacked one of the girl cats when I was living at my mums years ago, it also hung around in the area quite a while. She had a lot of stitches too.

A vet diagnosed my cat Winnie with a heart murmur quite a few years ago and then when i changed vets the new vet said she didn't have one, they told me that when a cat is really scared and their heart is beating really fast it can give the false impression of a heart murmur, so please try not to worry.....I do hope Leto feels better soon x

Thank you Bazaar- it was very exorcist! - I am hoping that she has a long and happy life as well, I think I was so upset because of the memories of losing Charlie came flooding back, it's only been a year since we lost him and I still miss him terribly. On a positive note Leto has eaten a little food for first time today and has been purring so looks like medicine is working

HI Ruffles, no we are not sure, if it was another cat the vet said it would have had to have been a big one as she had been bitten and shook round by her left leg tummy area, wounds had to be left open to drain as she had been missing all night and they were concerned about abscess forming. She has not been out since. Wounds have now started to heal.

She is walking around a bit more today the limp is a lot less obvious and in time should be ok.
