Can anyone explain what happened to my cat?

Hey guys, this happened about 4 years ago, and I remembered it again today, never given it much thought or asked around for an explanation before, maybe a fellow cat owner could help?

Around 4 years ago, when my cat Eddy was around 1 1/2, me and my sister were sat on her bed watching tv with Eddy relaxing calmly on my sisters lap, no care in the world, he looked happy and relaxed, when all of a sudden out of nowhere he started growling, a continuous low growl and brought his claws out while staring directly into my sisters eyes. He was sat on a side angle so wasn't facing my sister, but when this happened he literally positioned himself directly opposite my sister to face her, the weird part of all this was it was all directed at my sister, I was there too right next to her but his attention was focused entirely on her. He looked possessed. Eddy is the friendliest and warmest cat you'll ever meet, and this only happened once. This lasted for about 3 minutes, and when it was over he looked sort of confused and shaken up, but went back to relaxing again. My sister loves Eddy and had always shown nothing but love towards him, so we're both a little confused to this day.

Has this happened to anyone's cat/kitten? Any opinions appreciated

Demonic possession (of your sister or cat? -or both)?

Couldn't have been, he wasn't asleep in the first place, he was just relaxing.

Seizure?
Trapped wind?
Brain fart?

lol, i doubt it was trapped wind, my cat lets one rip often so I know when he has trapped wind. Don't think he was having a seizure, i researched the symptoms of a cat seizure and it doesn't match what happened to him.

seriously, no-ones cat has done this before? i'll start actually believing the demonic possession theory soon

Cats ears are very sensitive maybe he heard something that scared him and because he was so close to your sister she took the blame
