My Humax HDR has the latest Raydon firmware (though I think it's a Humax issue). Twice now I've set up recordings from the EPG and in both cases they failed to start. I have to edit the recording to turn them into a time-triggered recording to get them to start. I don't remember this as a problem with the BBC Olympics channels, so is it a new issue with the CH4 Paralympic ones?

I've had the same problem and I'm using the standard firmware.

I think it's related to the problem with the info banner showing the wrong programme (i.e. a previous one, rather than the current one), and the Humax believing that the current programme in the EPG occurs in the future (i.e. hasn't started yet - try clicking "OK" from the EPG to go to the current programme - it give you a choice of setting a reminder or recoding for later!). There was no such issue during the BBC Olympics coverage.

The failed recordings are 0s, and say "failed recording, unknown reason".

Cheers,
David.

I agree with 2Bdecided. I pointed in another thread out that the information banner has been showing the wrong data on all three extra HD channels since it started. As this appears to mess up recordings too, one wonders if it is a cock up or deliberate way to stop recording happening.

Sadly, I think it is simply finger trouble at Channel 4. They often make me lose the last minute of Channel 4 HD recordings as I prefer to use accurate recording settings on the Humax. I have come to the conclusion that the folks responsible at Channel 4 just cannot be bothered and don't care. Very unprofessional.

Unsurprisingly their audience ratings are lower than they could be! They annoyed us with the bl...y adverts in the middle of the opening ceremony and even more inane voice overs which seemed to be more a political commentary than human or sporting interest. Oh dear.

Yes sadly it's no surprise that Channel 4 can't get their EPG data right. They told me last year that they'd be transmitting Accurate Record triggers on Freesat in the early part of 2012, after I got fed up enough to raise a technical fault over their timings. Still no sign of it...

Info banner seemed correct this afternoon / evening. Haven't tried any automatic recordings.

Noticed manual recordings in Freesat mode were recorded without encryption. First time HD recording have been unencrypted for a while. IIRC all the BBC Olympic channels were flagged to be encrypted when recorded.

Cheers,
David.
