Oh well, advertising didn't work ...

This is the bit that worries me.

Existing Customers Wishing to Stay
On the 15th September, Ovivo will initiate the migration process from the original free offering to the new FREEDOM plan. The change for each customer will come into effect from your SIM activation date.

I wonder if that was in T&C

I think it's still free it's just the allowance has been trimmed down significantly and they are charging for use over those new very low allowances.

They were always giving away far to much for free.

The free allowance for the smartphone plan is now:

50 Mins
50 Texts
100MB mobile Internet

After that it's chargeable right? so it's still free?

In a word; yes.

It's still free, despite the title of this thread, you just don't get as much free allowance anymore (although the free Ovivo to Ovivo calls and texts are staying)... and it will evidently work on all handsets now too, not just smartphones.

As i said on my other thread this is a act of bait and switch...

I thought the regulator had a rule that they could not change these type of rules for 30 Days?

IIRC the rule is a minimum of 30 days for contract or 14 days for payg, which is why the "migrations" of existing customer tariffs won't start until the 15th.

My Ovivo SIM, as my Samba SIM, are for Broadband backup in my dongle.

Timing for 50 minutes free pcm is good, as my 12 month T-Mobile free 300 minutes ends October !

The same for texts.

Just need to use Ovivo SIM in my Smartphone ( or other mobile if I read it correctly)

Maybe the mods can change the title of this thread, as I have an Ovivo sim and I was worried I would start getting charged, the service is still free, just a smaller allowance.

Hadn't heard of these before, would interest me when I go from contract to payg/sim only next month, them being on vodafone puts me off a bit as it's a bit rubbish in my area. Same as giff gaff, except O2 is shite here.

Is there any of these ovivo/giff gaff cheapo things that use the orange/t mobile network?

Ovivo's new deal is fine in all aspects for me bar data. 100Mb is not enough and their £5 300mb plan would be pushing it. Plus I only put up with vodafones patchy coverage because it was free.

Time to try giff gaff?
