Slow to delete?
Is there any quicker way to delete recordings on the Humax PVR. It so slow and laborious. Over time my hard drive fills up and needs to be cleared of recordings that will never be watched.

In the Media list if you press Opt+ and select File Manager, you can then select Edit Mode (yellow button) and multi-select various recordings (including folders) to delete at once. They'll still take a while, but you don't have to wait for one to complete before deleting another one. (Note you have to drop back out of edit mode before you can go into a sub-folder.)
But in the main interface, quite why Humax don't allow multiple delete operations simply to be queued if you select another file to be deleted whilst one is in progress I'll never know... |

It is a background task on the Foxsat. The custom firmware web interface is much faster.

I have often seen references to "Custom Firmware" on this forum but I'm afraid it is a mystery to me. Is there a simple idiots guide for the likes of me. I am reasonably computer literate.
![]() http://www.avforums.com/forums/frees...-part-3-a.html. Basically the software installs a website on your Foxsat, this is accessible on pretty well all kit that has a web browswer. It's kind of cool controlling the foxsat with a smart phone

Modified Firmware
Before I try installing the modified firmware, just wandering what happens when The "Official Firmware" gets updated - such as the recent update relating to the recording of the 24 Olympic Channels. Does the Humax ignore the new update, merge it or restore the firmware to the Official one?

many Thanks.
Just browsed the AV Forums and think I understand now. The guys that produce the Custom Firmware create a new Custom one whenever the Official one is updated and so you then install the newly updated custom firmware, otherwise you will bounce back to the (latest) Official Software. |

Raydon released the update the same day as the latest very quick Humax update to allow recording of the Olympic channels. If you see a new version of the firmware then check. http://www.avforums.com/forums/frees...-part-3-a.html |
