i was wonder if anyone writes songs out there and has any tips?

It's one of those things where you can only learn by listening to songs by others, and re-moulding them and fusing them together to create a style of your own.

Writing great melodies is one thing that could never be taught - however songs with simple choruses often do well. Songs like "She Will Be Loved" by Maroon 5 and "Stars" by Simply Red probably got their radio success from holding one note for a whole line of the chorus.

However, on the other hand, songs like "Birdhouse In Your Soul" by They Might Be Giants have complex lines made up of lots of short choppy notes.

In my experience great self-written songs are few and far between, but you may well be better at it than I am!

ive been song writing for about a year. Multisandia was right, best way to get better at song writing, is to look at others songs and start buy fusing them to create your own, just taking snippets and stuff, then look at the way they were written and style and take it on board in your writing. I play guitar n bass and piano, and i foudn the best way of writing great stuff is just improvising on a good day you can come away with some great riffs!

songwriting and singing are my favourite pastimes.theres nothing more better than singing a song to uplift your mood.wel this is what happen if come from a musical family.
