Samsung Omnia 7 connection problem

Hi, not too long ago I got a Samsung omnia 7 and just got a cable and have tried connecting it to my laptop. It said there was updates, so updated, and was able to connected it to zune. But when I go onto 'computer' where the hard drives are listed, my phone was not listed on there. In in the past, when I connected a device, be it, a phone, USB stick and so on, it was listed on there. I really want to put music on it, I have tried connecting via bluetooth as well, still not connecting. Does anyone have any tips? It seems a bit rubbish that all my previous phones have been far inferior and now I have a smart phone its actually harder to connect! It should be the other way round, everything should be simple!

You have to use the zune software to transfer music to the phone. The music should be in mp3 or wma format.

It's similar to how you use iTunes to transfer music to an iPod or iPhone.
