Adam, to me, has never really liked Deana all that much anyway so nothing's lost.

For me, the only one I'm still interested in is Deana. Couldn't care less what the rest do or don't do.

Deana is more courageous and fascinating than all the other HMs rolled up into a ball ... the rest are to some extent either tedious or nasty or simply moral cowards ... and she is none of the above ...

I still find her an extraordinary and admirable person - and find myself saddened that someone with those qualities (combined with a great honesty) was treated in such a dreadful way by so many people ...

What sort of a country are we turning into that we are educating and turning out so many people with no real principles or courage or judgement ... ?

It makes me feel low ... especially as it was all aided and abetted by programme makers who clearly feel that this is the way to make a buck and that it is OK to skew public opinion in unforgivable and dangerous ways ...

Am I alone in these feelings of despondency ... ?

Although I loved watching the Soldiers together in the house and how they defeated the Insiders, I always felt Adam wasn't overly keen on Deana. I felt deep down he always had a problem with her. I noticed he would make little digs at her. It seemed he didn't want to be associated with her at times because it jeopardised his position in the house or with the viewing public.

Who could forget that time Adam threw a OTT hissy fit when Deana dared mention his name during nomination talk? He stormed off into the diary room demanding what Deana had said to be relayed back to him again. He isolated Deana further by moving beds and bad mouthing her to Conor of all people. Lauren didn't help matters by fueling the flames and saying to Conor, he was right about Deana all along. Deana was only stating the bloomin' obvious about how the Outsiders were being picked off when trying to cheer Luke A up. She was so upset that night and wanted to leave because of Adam's reaction.

Yet again Adam had a major strop on with Deana causing a bad atmosphere when she and Sara were on a secret task, ffs.

I doubt Adam considered jumping off his box in order for Deana to win her prize.

I remember Adam saying he'd hang out with Deana out of the house, only because he had no other friends.

I remember Deana saying to Adam and Luke A after getting saved again, "Do you trust me now?" Why did it take Deana to be saved a few times from eviction in order for Adam and Luke A to trust her? Deana seemed to have to prove herself to them all the time.

When the Soldiers were giving their farewell speeches in the garden, Deana was saying she hoped they would remain friends after the show and share more special times together. Adam never agreed or returned the sentiment.

On BBBOTS Emma asked Deana and Adam whether they'll stay in touch. Adam's reply was she (Deana) will have to come and visit me because I don't have a car. That seems to me he doesn't want to make the effort even though they live close by and he could easily get the bus.

You are not alone UV, I am so despondent I have turned BB off completely and, to be honest, it is not BB as I know it anymore. They've turned it into 'the only way if Essex' type of show which I can live without.

But I always thought that hms would have had some kind of reaction to Conor's rant, but nothing.i haven't heard any condemnation by any of the hms.

someone on twitter asked Adam whether he had seen what Conor had said , and at the time he said he hadn't, but the tweeter wouldn't let it go until Adam had watched it, and when he had finally seem it, it seemed to be a halfhearted show of indignation. Other than that the other hms have either defended Conor or said nothing at all.

Who could really blame Deana for having nothing to do with that lot if it is her decision to do so.

Yes ... you are spot on ... this is what makes it all hard to bear ... the fact that I felt that once people were out of the house and all was revealed they would see clearly and feel passionately (as I felt we all did ...)

The snidey references to Deana's 'rabid' fans rankle with me, too ... as it is clear that we were feeling so strongly because we felt we were up against something so disgusting and unwarranted ... and there was a wave of righteous anger carrying us along ... as there should have been ... it was the right reaction ... anyone with a shred of decency or feeling for justice or dislike of cruelty would have leapt in behind us ... even if she had not been so lovely ... wouldn't they ... ?

I'm currently watching BB Australia, and i find myself constantly comparing the women on it to Deana, and finding that they just don't measure up to her depth of personality, or her moral integrity. In all the years of watching Big Brother from around the world i find her to be a singular and unique person, who's like isn't often found on this type of show. I have a hard time believing I'm ever going to like a Housemate more.

You are absolutely correct. Anyone with a shred of decency would be very angry at what Conor said about Deana. It was absolutely disgusting.

To be fair to the other housemates though, one of the problems you have is that there is very little interest in BB at the moment outside of C5 and Ok mag so the reactions of the other housemates have not been publicised as much as they would have been in previous years. There are no independent publications or TV programmes really interested in BB at all so no one to broadcast other housemates views on the incident.

I know that Victoria felt so strongly about it she broke ranks on Bit on the Side even though they had all been told not to mention it. I also know that Benedict has said he thought it was out of order (not sure of his exact words but I'm sure I've read something on DS about it). Luke A said he felt awful about saying he was happy with Conor getting half the prize money when he found out what Conor had threatened to do to Deana. As far as the rest of them are concerned - half of them more than likely heard it but didn't object at the time but look at who we are talking about here Ashleigh, Arron, Scott, Caroline, fence-sitter Sara, Luke S (whose prime concern is, let's face it, himself even though I'll admit to having a bit of a soft spot for him as I never felt he was as nasty or shallow as some of the others). And I've had to search extremely hard to find these comments. A further problem was that Celeb BB started immediately and there was massive damage limitation on here because anyone who wished to discuss the previous series was shut down by people sabotaging the threads by repeating the same messages or telling people to shut up and move on because the series was finished.

You also have to take into account that there were other remarks made which could have been considered to be racist - the eating with the hands thing (), Caroline referring to Adam as a gorilla () and they were all treated much more lightly than in my opinion they ought to have been.

My point is don't assume that just because you haven't heard much from the other housemates it does not mean that the decent ones amongst them weren't horrified by Conor's remarks or his family and friends' racist remarks on facebook and tweets. Give them the benefit of the doubt because a lot of it is simply because there is no interest in the programme now and also because they have probably been warned by C5 that anything they say could damage the Ofcom investigation (whether it's true or not doesn't matter - C5 appear to have tried to gag them anyway). Just remember one thing - Conor did not attend the wrap party despite saying he was going. Whether C5 warned him not to attend or simply turned him away when he turned up we can only guess. I console myself with the image of him being dragged away by a couple of burly bouncers

I would have thought that channel 5 would be delighted if ofcoms investigation was hampered, also I don't think that its the equivalent to a caught of law where the case can't be discussed, nothing anyone says now can alter what Conor said.

I had forgotten about Benedict and Victoria, but shievonne openly defended, not necessarily what he said but her friendship with him and Lauren has done likewise. As I've said already Adam begrudgingly showed his disapproval. And Sara seems very pally with Conor on twitter.

I can't give them the benefit of the doubt apart from Victoria, even thou Benedict has spoken out against Conor,i think that its more about his dislike for Conor rather than defending Deana.

Being absolutely honest, yes I think they should. I know Lauren tweeted something about everything should be ok because Conor said sorry and Deana found it hard to forgive her for it. There are some mistakes people make that can be put right by saying sorry and there are others that show you something so fundamental about the person and their views that you know that any sorry is simply an excuse and, in my opinion, Conor's rant falls into that category.

As far as Luke and Adam are concerned, there are a few things that come to mind. There are a lot of family members, friends and fans of both who are naturally delighted they won and came second and are still bombarding them with attention so there is little time to consider what happened regarding Deana. I know Deana felt that she was disliked by Conor from the very beginning and I am certain she is correct on this. Some women have a very highly developed sense of awareness of how others feel (women's intuition if you like) and I suspect Deana is one of them. When she says she would go into a room and the others would leave and she knew they had been talking about her I am sure she is right but that doesn't mean that Luke and Adam were aware of it at the time. Luke never had a problem with Conor in the house BECAUSE Conor never had a problem with him and he never knew or saw how Conor felt about and treated Deana. Therefore, they probably still don't believe that Deana was treated as badly as she says she was and that the epilator rant, bad as it was, was just a one-off incident rather than part of a sustained attempt to belittle, discredit and isolate Deana.

Another thing is Deana herself. How she coped in that house without either becoming a quivering wreck or educating that bunch of illiterate twits on a whole new set of swear words I will never know. But she coped at the time and she is coping now. Maybe if she was a quivering lump receiving psychiatric treatment they would all feel sorry for her and be sticking up for her more. But that's not Deana. She is a very strong woman and is getting on with her life and career and I wish her the best of luck.

It's funny because Lauren was following Conor on twitter before but now she's not after all the hate she must have received for defending Conor..

Or how about when he threw a strop over her not nominating Caroline in the face to face?
