I have an HTC Rhyme, Please can anyone tell me why it thinks i am located in Rickmansworth which I have never visited ( I am currently in Suffolk) It gives me weather information for Rickmansworth by default and now it is giving me geocaches in Rickmansworth.
I have Vodafone Sure Signal so have a good signal just outside my house but the gps is not picking up my location!

Are you connected to Wifi? It might be using that or the IP address of the connection to guess where you are, and getting it wrong.

Yes, via Plusnet. That could be it as it usually works all right away from home.

You should worry! When I run speedtest on my phone, it searches for the nearest server and comes up with Voorthuizen which is between Amersfoort and Apeldoorn in the Netherlands.

I live in Newbury. The nearest server is at Vodafone HQ up the road. Haven't a clue how it dug out Voorthuizen - even Geo location can't be that far out.

its based on your IP address and I guess your subnet is not correctly registered on which ever service the web site uses. Do you have a problem with geo based services like iplayer ?

This sounds like a problem with the configuration of your Vodafone Sure Signal box. Call Vf.
