Journalists have to be careful. People really want Apple news so journalists won't burn their bridges with the company. It's a fine line they run and I'd say it's safer to stay on the positive side whereas they wouldn't give a damn about flaming some generic Chinese copy! This article may interest you.

All big companies probably do this, it's just Apple are the biggest at the moment.

Thanks for the article. Having a read now and it's very interesting.

This is nothing new and the reason why you find mostly positive iphone press the moment you cross them or step out of line you are blacklisted.

It's the same for all devices. You will find some websites are biased towards one more than another, it's nothing new.

Also I think the problem is a lot of journalists get swept up in the hype the excitement of a new device launch and can be a bit biased.

Endgadget, CNET and the Verge seems to be totally pro Apple whilst conversely the reader comments are quite interesting as it is quite hefty in its pro Android makeup with just a few apple fans defending their corner. After the verdict, many Apple users swore to turn their back on apple because of the litigation.

I think Engadget is particularly biased....they were very snarky and rude about Nokia in their liveblogs and were belittling all their innovations like their camera technology, and while I'm not a fan of Nokia I think this is cool....However, had this been featured on an iPhone, you can bet they would have had a 1000 articles on it, and praised everything they said in their liveblog instead of mocking like they did with Nokia....

I think Apple have bullied many of the major reporters to have next to no choice but to write pro-Apple articles....a very underhanded company to be honest....Google and Microsoft may have their faults, but so far they have been trying to compete fairly in the mobile space, unlike Apple.

The difference is if you criticise apple you are blacklisted, denied access to interviews and exclusives. They have even tried suing journos to reveal their sources which involved apple exclusives.
