I didn't watch the whole video, did they compare the size to the current iPhone? Otherwise how do we know if the screen isn't bigger in this video? Or did they say?
It looks like the same small screen and no mention or anything on the video. Just showed the new smaller port which we all know about by now and does not prove that video is real.

Regarding the new smaller port, I don't get it. Why change the design meaning that all current hardware like docking stations won't work with it?

That's funny, because I've seen countless iPhones with smashed screens and cracked glass because someone dropped it once....yet I've had a Galaxy S2 and dropped it more often than I should have and it barely had a scratch on it....My Galaxy Nexus feels sturdy and solid....

People claim Samsung phones are made from 'cheap plastic', but they are in fact strong polycarbonates which are far far stronger than the beer bottle glass used on the iPhone which smashes and cracks if you drop it or sit on it.
I have to agree. Although my galaxy note is made of plastic it feels much sturdier than my iPhone ever did.

Don't know how genuine this is, but a channel/group called GSM Israel claim to have posession of the new iphone. Is this the real thing? More of the same plus larger screen?

I think it's a mock up based on all the current rumours/leaks of parts etc. Although it's probably a good guesstimate of what it will look like. We'll find out soon anyway.

It is odd. I mean, why don't they just go with the standard MicroUSB?

I know what people are talking about with the dodgy after effects. That does look like a very fake screen when it turns it on. But after the various leak videos coming out it does seem like the iPhone 5 is going to look like this.

Why is the dead space around the screen still sooooo large? The screen is only a bit larger than the 4S but the phone has to be made bigger as well to fit it. So it seems like its going to be a smaller screen than the S3, but at the same size handset. Very strange indeed.

I'm fairly sure with the latest software, there is no longer any requirement to connect to iTunes when you fire up a new phone. A setup wizard should start on the phone itself, to activate and register it etc.

ETA: However it could be in DFU mode I suppose.

Indeed, or it has no firmware on it at all.

Yep no need on the 4S either. However the new iPhone should come with iOS 6

Well no, not really.

When i had my 4S and i put the beta of iOS6 on it, when i woke up one day and i decided it wasnt going to work anymore, it did this.

When i connected it to itunes it gave me some sort of error. I had to go into DFU and roll back to iOS5.

Here's an interesting thought. Why don't you posters who hate apple and the iPhone stay out of threads where like these and let people who have a genuine interest discuss it in peace. And before anyone says... I feel the same about people who love iPhones doing the same to threads about other phones. All of this childish infighting is turning the mobile phone forum into nothing more than a playground. Actually that's being unfair to kids. I thnk you all (both camps) need to grow up. Life's so much easier with out petty squabbles.

Now back on topic. Personally I think the phone looks ok. Nothing special. But I like the fact that iPhones don't change much. For me it's a formula that works. I'm looking forward to seeing what iOS 6 has.

PS anyone who replies to this post purely to big up android and put down iOS will be sent to coventry

Well...Android.... Just kidding.

To be honest, like i said earlier. Unless iOS6 has changed since its Beta when i used it, then it wont be any different at all.

I hope this is true, it makes iOS 6 look fantastic, and running on iPhone 5 it will be truly unbeatable.

What exactly is fantastic about it? I'm curious. I guess running on iPhone 5 at least it will have all the "features".

Fantastic?

What's there that isn't already in iOS?

Pretty much nothing! Put that with an iphone once again identical to the 4 and 4S it equals a joke!!

Oh, and when i used iOS6, the apple maps was a joke!

This is just a rehash of the same old stuff that has been available on ios for years. I know Apple are stagnant but this has to be a joke?

No offense but a quick glance through your posting history shows as in your own words you "hate iPhone its junk" so your opinion is biased.

By the way I don't see anyone else able to show a photo of them holding an iPhone 4s and a Galaxy S3. I clearly have both and depressingly although the iPhone 4s is a lot older than the S3 the iPhone has a brighter better PPI screen.

So if the iPhone 4s is better I can safely assume the iPhone 5 will really make it look like "junk"
