Good idea!
These are good features though and will of course help pull IOS up to standard, but seriously, these aren't unique features going in to the latest IOS build. So not sure there is much innovative stuff there for Apple to use for the big sell. But they have a best in class marketing team and that always swings things in their favour. |

Anyways was just saying, that facebook integration is nothing new, it's a bread and butter feature for HTC phones for example for the past 3 or so years. Also that notification pull down, was also a HTC feature from long ago. Apple have a cheek suing others for ripping off their features but they are guilty of doing the same.

Samsung were nowhere 5 years ago the have just tried to emulate Apple and HTC and failed. At least Sony are innovating and trying there best to be creative just like Apple and HTC. From what I'm seeing lately Apple and HTC are the real winners from all the court battles. |

Software shouldn't be patentable. They are just ideas, there is no technology/implementation theft ffs. |

Plus they have those videos of that british guy talking about the products against a white background. That always sells the product to me. They make it sound like they've just discovered a cure for every disease. |

Its just a shame in the past 2 years Apple have slacked to zero innovation. It means losing a competitor of innovation.
I like Apple products, I'm not a no holds barred apple can do no wrong fangirl but I like them. But I want want a lot from iPhone 5 if I'm expected to pay more than £35 a month for it. The Galaxy S3 was £38 a month plus £49,99 for the phone at launch, if Apple want the same then the phone needs to be better then the 6 month old and soon to be updated S3. |

I mean don't get me wrong, I don't hate Iphones, my dad has one, and it's a solid phone, and gets the job done, fair enough. But Apple aren't bringing anything new to the table, and have't done so for a while now. I think people are waiting for them to kick on now, but in actual fact they are starting to stagnate.
Remember, the biggest evolution now, needs to come from software I think, the hardware side, even dual core is plenty fast for most people, no point to keep on pushing this side of things, when battery tech is still old hat and cannot keep up with these new demanding phones. Improvements need to be made with the UI for example, bringing in features and adding functionality whilst still not overcomplicating the user experience. Apple had this right in the beginning, clean, simple, functional UI. Although I was never a fan even then of the iphone, but I could see the appeal why so many people, even those who aren't so tech minded like my old dad could just pick up and use it. That appeal is still there. Problem is, people want more from their phones now, after they have seen what kinds of things are capable now. Not sure if this is a correct comparison, but its like if a comedian keeps using the same jokes at every show and never changes things up, people get bored the comedian starts to look like a one trick pony. I think it's vital that Apple come back in to the fight, with some new moves. and people don't have to agree with me, but the UI is in serious need of a refresh also the design of the phone could use an update. This is just MY opinion though, |

Now i am confused. Isn't the iPhone 4S already better than the S3 (for you), because you dont like android? So the iPhone 5 could be identical, and you would still prefer it over S3.
iOS6 doesn't even have to do anything, especially because its not any way. Look don't be confused just understand some people like xbox some like playstation, Some like Sky some like Virginmedia. Choice and variety is the spice of life. I don't get on with Googles Android OS, But that doesn't mean its no good, it just means I prefer iOS. I would advise anyone new to smart phones to try both. |

That's not to say things should remain static as eventually people will want more and drift away. The big fault of Nokia and RIM was they became very complacent, despite being so successful back in the day. Apple drip feed features in carefully measured upgrades. They've done it with OSX too where 10.1 doesn't look radically different from 10.8. Quite a lot of changes under the hood, but cosmetically not a lot of visual changes. iOS is in the same IMHO. One aspect is that it's a single manufacturer selling them. But many users love that as it's very familiar and easy to use, even though it's no where near as customisable and feature laden like Android, which has undergone quite drastic changes over its lifecycle, and countless device manufacturers competing with each other and adding their own extra features to stand out from each other. |

These videos make apple products seem like the best things ever by confusing the hell out of you and making random comparisons to other things. |

That comment right there sums everything up, no matter what "fanbois" say,, If you don't innovate you will get left behind. Its 2012 and brand strength will not save anyone, older users will think Apple customers or Googles Android customers are blind fanbois. The people saying this will be old none gym attending men, but everyone else understands what they want. They understand the commitment of a 24 month contract. An they willl still choose Apple. I guess its like freeview and Sky, |

Well having looked at all this and reaction on line I do hope this is not the 5, a strong iphone is important.
However the 4s was unable to better the older s2 and it looks like the 5 will be coming in behind the S3 as well. I hope w8 can pull something out to challenge as it looks like the iphone has fully become run of the mill even for some of the die hards. |

Seriously guys.......... cocks (or girl parts if you don't have one)............ Tape measures........... Have at it will you?
Perhaps then we can get on with discussing the iPhone without having thread after thread needlessly derailed by people on both sides of the debate. I cannot be the only person on here sick to death of every single thread discussing the iPhone turning into an iOS vs Android pissing contest |

I'm actually hoping Apple will bring out a great phone, not because I am thinking of buying it, but because we need innovation and competition in the industry. I am really hoping Apple have a few surprises that haven't already been leaked as so far it seems like slim pickings. Apple are experts at marketing, and nothing gets free publicity like a surprise feature or two. |

This is annoying, so many of the apps I downloaded for the S3 that used location for takeaway food, sight seeing etc told me I needed to be in the USA for them to work.
